THE Sea Eagles cheergirls - the Seabirds - continue to be the best in the NRL under the guidance of choreographer Monique Carroll.

2010 Miss World Australia Ashleigh Francis spent several years as a Manly Sea Eagles cheerleader.

She has done a fantastic job for many years grooming and teaching young women the art of cheerleading with poise and dignity - in fact she is as determined and meticulous as her husband Mark “Spud” Carroll was in the front row for the Sea Eagles during the halcyon days of the Sea Eagles in the mid-90s, when the club appeared in three successive grand finals.
Monique was blown away this week when she took a call from the 2010 Miss World Australia Ashleigh Francis. Ashleigh spent several years with the Seabirds and was sideline for the 40-0 grand final win over the Melbourne Storm. She phoned to thank Monique for always emphasising that the girls had to display polish whenever they were on show.
“She is a delightful young woman and deserves all the success that has come her way,” Monique said.

MICHAEL Robertson never misses packing a squash or golf ball into his playing kit every week and it will be no different when he leaves his Allambie home for Brookvale Oval on Saturday night.
Robertson will play his 125th consecutive game for Manly.
The left-wing specialist has never missed a game through injury, suspension or being dropped since he debuted in maroon and white on March 3, 2006.
Five consecutive seasons without missing a game is an achievement for the 27 year-old, 88kg winger.
Robbo spends his final five minutes before taking the field throwing a squash or golf ball against a brick wall to sharpen his hand-eye co-ordination.
He never varies the preparation and says it helps to relax him.
The Robertson-Steve Matai five-year-old, left-side combination is one of the best in the NRL.
