Coming last! All of that off season hope now gone? After the two wins, looked lilke things were on the up.

The Wyong Roos have held off a valiant Blacktown Workers outfit, running away with a strong 40-18 victory and maintaining their place atop the Intrust Super Premiership NSW ladder.

The first-half was all one-way traffic as the Roos piled on four unanswered tries, and kept Blacktown scoreless with some physical defence. Wyong’s dominance continued early in the second half, only for Blacktown to respond with three tries of their own in the final 20 minutes.

Yeah. Where are all those promising Blacktown players who would make our first 17 as the season wore on?

who played fullback ? and please tell me they carved it up and will slip straight into NRL next week no problems

Gone are the years where the reserve grade player in that position is the obvious selection. Still remember when Bob Batty was injured it was Derek Moritz called up. Or if Fred Jones was injured Max Krilich would be promoted. Or if Bob Fulton was out, Terry Hill (the original) would be the obvious selection. Alan Thompson was oout and it was Martin Meredith in.

What do you expect when they sack the NSW Cup coach who signed all the players for the 3 senior teams, NSW cup, RMC and SS. Over 30 players walked out and all of the NSW Cup staff in protest. Sincr he has left the club has lost 7 from 9 games in 3 grades with those 2 wins coming against bottom clubs in RMC and SS. The hype was warranted but when you sack someone who built the club there will be fallout. 30 players and staff dont walk away for a dud coach.

Sea Eagles Upset Bears In North Sydney
The Blacktown Workers Sea Eagleshave earned themselves a valuable away victory, holding out a poor North Sydney Bears outfit 22-6 at North Sydney Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears were early favourites considering the tough start Blacktown have endured this season, but a multitude of handling errors throughout the contest proved costly in a lacklustre performance.

The pack and halves we had for today looked pretty good.

SO basically it was manly reserve grade and not quite blacktown.

You all probably watched it this afternoon,

Mounties have come out on top in a high-scoring affair at Lottoland, defeating the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles 44-30 in a thoroughly entertaining clash on Sunday afternoon.

New Sea Eagles coach Steve Hales had his first loss in charge, but will be proud of his side's effort against the high-flying Mounties, with defensive issues but a fine completion rate of 26 from 28 sets. Halfback Cameron Cullen was one of the stars of the show in a losing side, setting up three tries and scoring an individually-impressive one himself

It looked to me like Mounties took the Workers lightly, and when they got behind it was just a matter of holding the ball for six tackles and they would score. On paper Mounties have a host of former NRL players. I think the Workers had three.

Derek was our host in a corporate box about 15 years ago. Really nice guy and was great for a chat.
