Knocked about badly ( first half ), star fullback injured and playing through pain , possession badly against them.

And EVERYONE on Silvertails throwing the towel in ( me included ).

But not our players , oh no , not them, unlike us losers they never gave up.

A win for the ages.

A coaching master class ( that set piece try was sublime ).

Who said Seibold was Seidud???

Onwards and upwards , whilst unlikely we’d beat either Storms or Panfers if we can beat the Chooks this has been a bloody fantastic year.

What a ride!!

Best win of the year to escape from defeat in the final seconds ???
The dogs game plan had the game all but won except for some Manly individual brilliance by our Brilliant players
Compare that with the dominating and comprehensive final match wins by the storm and the panthers to get a clear perspective how great our best win of the year was @Mark from Brisbane

So many moments in yesterday’s win. As we got closer to full time, it just felt like we were destined to win it.

Rubes was nailing kicks from everywhere.

DCE won 2 captain’s challenges. Good one Atkins.

Burton’s 2 point field goal attempt went under the crossbar.

And the Dogs were making mistakes towards the end when they had otherwise been perfect with the ball in hand for most of the game.

Dogs absolutely threw the kitchen sink at us yesterday. They executed perfectly a game plan designed to be beat us! They won the ruck and had us on the back foot for most of the game. We won this out of pure heart and resilience. To progress further in the competition we need to address our ruck issues as this is now two weeks in row where we have been well and truly beaten…

Best win indeed. I’ve watched the whole game 3 times now, the last 10 minutes in full about 5 times, the DCE try 10 times, the Koula try 50 times, and the last minute of the game with the Manly celebrations at least 100 times. It gets better with each viewing.

I thought our forwards held their own against the Dogs. None of the Dogs' tries came through our forwards. Our weakness in defence comes out wide. Mind you, many NRL teams suffer from the same issue. Once the ball is spread outside backs slide and retreat. It leads to problems.
I wonder when a coach will implement a new defensive system?

We didn't escape defeat in the final seconds.

We finished all over the Dogs, after weathering a battering for 70 minutes.

Paseka and Lodge were killing them in middle in the last 10 minutes ( also knowm as the time when close games of footy are won).

I wasn't throwing in the towel on Silvertails, but only because I was at the game... I texted my son at halftime "our season ended when Tommy got busted in the previous game".
Yeah, even I don't want to sack Seibold this week 😜
And Tom Trbojevic can play fullback for Manly as long as he chooses to do so. (Just imagine if he was fit, sigh).

Some good points. The doggies were able to slow down our momentum in the ruck especially in the first half where we had that huge breeze behind us. From my recollection they ( dogs) certainly won the yardage aspect of the game in the stats….

Dogs line speed was insane for 70 minutes.
Not offside, just maximum effort.

We weathered it, and came over the top.

So many moments in a season that have been good, but to win a knockout game like that was fantastic!!

Very proud of the efforts from the playing group, Turbo playing busted like he did set the tone for the other players to follow.

Yeah it's interesting.

I feel we lost the yardage game via Dogs defence, rather than Dogs yardage carries. In other words, they made ground without the ball.

Statistically, our middles out performed their middles by some margin, running for more metres and breaking more tackles. The Dogs made most of their yards via their back 5, with Skelton running for 214m. We were only a shade off the Dogs overall running metres when you factor in both the backs and forwards. But yeah, our forwards didn't fair too bad by comparison.

Of course, those stats don't really show where those metres were made and clearly the Dogs were starting their sets from better field position and restricting our sets via their line speed and scramble. It's their strength and they worked that aspect of the game nicely.

A few others have mentioned the lack of ball movement from us yesterday. It did appear we played a tad more conservative until the big play that won the game. It'll be interesting to see how we approach the yardage battle against the Chooks.

I thought our defence was pretty good yesterday, showed a lot of resilience. The tries they scored, we could have really stopped them with a little more vigour and effort.

Garrick's first attempt lacked intent, then, the second try we let in, we kind of fell over each other and their third try came off a kick I thought we should have covered.

But all in all, we contained them pretty well, slid well and didn't make too many missed tackles. Our tackles were hitting and sticking and in the final 10 minutes, we had them well contained and on the back foot. Paseka, Lodge and a controlled kicking game and solid kick chase got us home during those last frantic 5 minutes

Yeah agree. The thing I don’t understand about Garrick’s attempt on Kiraz is the way he showed him the sideline. The old rule is to go hard chasing out and if the player is good enough to step inside, at the very least, you give the inside defenders a chance to get across. That close to line, he should be going all in on a tackle and bugger the consequences.

I think it was courageous and a game we would have lost in previous seasons
I feel Dogs played a great game of footy and for Manly to find a way required guts, belief and Star players stepping up when most needed
I say the best win many seasons and Dogs would have beaten all but 2 other teams based on their performance.
To win in such a tough contest, so late in the game shows the supporters and themselves they have a new toughness and resolve that had been missing in recent years, so proud of the players for not just the Win, but the desire to get it done against so much adversity 🔥
