Best performing players so far

Really like Paseka so far....been a noted improver and looks likely to kick on
Aloiai has been strong and gave a lift when he came on against Souths
Schuster though not dynamic (yet), has shown he can handle the tough stuff and looked more comfortable than most his team mates against tough opposition.
Disappointed for Davey, who I was really starting to warm to , 100% effort player who hit harder in attack and defence than his team mates.
Saab looks good and will only improve and adds a bit of speed to a sluggish Manly team.
Whats the thoughts on players to impress so far ?

I liked Davey. He was always solid. Keppi also has impressed me. And im looking forward to Schuster getting more involved.

For mine:

Keppie played well in his one game (showed he should have played round one)
Aloiai was disappointing in the trial and round one, but smashed it this weekend
I think Saab is showing glimpses of what he could be (lots of potential)
Marty was fantastic against The Bunnies
Paseka has possibly been our best forward this season

Pretty accurate. Id add that Marty gets a pass mark but i still feel like something is missing. Foran looked good for half of round 1 and maybe he is carying injury .
Jetski has had moments in defence and depending on his cap value has just passed

Jake went much better against souths as he unlearns the art of playing first receiver

Croker and parker are the definition of trying but that title seems to be reserved for DCE . Croker is not a hooker, barely a first grader so its hard to be too harsh on him but playing big minutes in the middle is tough, especially when getting spanked. Parker is great when we are on top but is not a rear guard centre as he lacks fundamental centre skills and is very predictable

Sirro, DcE, garrick are all epic fails

Kicking game, patience , and game plan all still missing meaning our game is still about individuals as opposed to a unified force. If we get this right one day we may be more competitive, hungry and start hunting as a team.

If we are honest the team hunting is what we are , and have been sadly missing.

That "s not a bad appraisal but think that Parker has contributed OK , think that suli and Walker are the best centre pairing on offer [ like many others ] but still a place for Parker and could be 2 nd row . Paseka has played at a really good level as have , Marty ,Alioia and Jake was much more effective against the Bunnies . For sure , kicking game and building pressure at a very poor standard , D C E [ completely ] and to a lesser requirement Foz to perform to the level that would be expected of them .

All pretty fair comment , but would really like Sipley to get a run soon and Saddler latter in the season and his contract upgraded ASAP or quite soon , Think that he has shown enough ability already and before some other club tries to nab him

Yeah i think sips needs a run for sure. Props have been strong , boyle aside which makes it tough so far. Not many props look suited to back row either, maybe marty but not many minutes in him. Plenty to 13. Would love to see paseka at 13 or on the edge allowing a sips promotion but jake has it locked up .

Props are strong but need too much help in defence making the pack a little one dimensial . Not too many tweeners with good go forward , lateral movement, big motors and good defenders in the pack at all

Haumole is the one who should be able to provide the 2 n d row with the drive and power when he is available again , in the mean time , just have to make do and hope that the other can still manage something worthwhile . Burbo could offer something but needs more time to acquit himself to i st grade demands .

Yeah huamole does seem to be the natural fit and replacing sirro with the correct balance once all the chairs have been rearranged is a big key to us moving forward next season

Manase and lawton, foran if we want him, all pretty cheap spine players with possibly cust would make us more competitive if we get the pack and attitude right. A hard nosed back rower who could possible be captain and lead the way.

Finding the correct spot for jake needs to be at the forefront. I think he needs to be starting prop but im not settled on that Entirely. Needs lots or minutes for his defence but the more he is on the less effective his running game is. We need some more defence in the pack to reduce his workload somewhat but even as i type im not sold on it 100%. Maybe as a 13 with less defence his game would lift in impact. He is so important to the team having him off the field is not ideal either but he is just being flogged like his brother. Surely his life will be counted in dog years soon. Massively overworked
