Barrett signs with Sharks

CRONULLA today signed former Australian five-eighth Trent Barrett to a two year contract worth $600,000.

The Daily Telegraph understands Barrett's deal will include a third party sponsorship agreement with Channel Nine.

Sharks officials are expected to release a media statement at 4pm today announcing Barrett's deal.

Barrett became available after negotiating an early release from English club Wigan.

He will replace Sharks halfback Brett Kimmorley, off to the Bulldogs at the end of this season.
