So Matty Ballin has talked about something interesting.

He noted that most of our stars from the 05-15 era retired due to injuries.

He said that squad was so determined by success that they pushed themselves to the limits which may have shortened their careers.

And let's not forget they built a squad and culture by spending millions over the cap in what they were allowed to spend. The storm have won 1 legit grand final in the last ten years.

Manly won two premierships and played ten years of finals, players wished they were languishing in clubs who didn't so they could have played two years more footy and no rep games and... give me a break Matt Ballin. Good player for us but the game passed you by (lucky to have creative players like gift and snake and even lestrange and then Buhrer making your mid nineties style hooker - make a thousand tackles and the occasional dummy half run- style play work for the team. Loved you as a player and hope there is a role for you at the club in the future. Champion bloke. Two knee recos at the end of your career count yourself lucky there are a thousand blokes more talented and just as hard working who had those two recos before the age of 20 and went on to work as labourers or tradies or pilots or god knows what.
