Broken foot, good times ahead with no hooker
We are now further in The Poo
I thought our hooker problems were left behind in Gladstone.....apparently not.
This really is the season from hell for us with injuries. Now there are two ways the team can go, we can play Brown who is past it and at best adequate or we can bite the bullet and blood young Manase Fainu?, what have we got to lose? While we are at it, bring into the squad Tom Wright, Cade Cust and Jade Anderson. We have to get these players ready for 2019 and this is the perfect chance to blood them, the question is will our stubborn coaching team do this or just their trusted failures? Interesting times!!!
Adversity shows how we will respond and who we are
Jackson Hastings played well off the bench as hooker in the first few games Just saying
Here come the second tier cap excuses any time now.....
Good post . Difficult times brings new opportunities . These young blokes may be the enthusiasm and spark that we need . Exciting times ahead .
We don't progress focusing on excuses. We make progress when we are proactive and look for solutions . Whilst there is heart , determination and belief there is always hope . Attitude is everything !
Mate, I'm starting to think they should hire you pre-game for a true pep talk! Nothing seems to blunt your enthusiasm for this team! Love it!
Um? Blacktown started Lussick at Hooker ( & captain in # 14 ) and pushed Fainu to lock yesterday so don’t know what’s doing there. Barrett mentioned earlier in the year that Fainu was pretty much next up when API was being discussed as a potential NSW hooker. But who knows?
Mate , We all love our Sea eagles and that is why we all have no life and log on here every day (lol). On serious note . How many times have we heard athletes and sports teams win against all the odds . Triumph when no one had belief in them . They became winners because they believed in them selves and worked harder to make up for their setbacks . Faith in ones self, determination to succeed and hard work is a lethal combination to win against any team. Let us not also forget that a champion team can beat a team of champions Now is the time to bond together like super glue and show the Dragons what Super Sea eagles we are . But we must want it. We must want it bad like soldiers on heat . How bad do we want it . Like a root at the Glastone strip club !!!
Parker would be perfect defensively, but he always trips and falls over when he runs the ball.
Trent will unite the squad and come up with a masterstroke to take us deep into the sem finals. We will go on a 10 game winning run starting next week and Trent will get extended to 2025
Well is not impossible to go undefeated from here but we need some players to learn how to kick and tackle again this week.
These are the things we know. - Api is essentially gone for the season - Jackson Hastings will not be playing NRL at this club again even in the face of this injury crisis it seems - Fainu is not part of the top 30 so unless an application is made to the NRL to play a development player due to injuries, he cannot play. - We have no other recognised hooker within our squad. With that in mind I have no idea what happens from here. All I know is that it cannot involve Brown or Wright at hooker.
Can Fainu get a run or maybe ineligable? Tom Wright now a serious consideration for a spot, especially in a side relying on individual brilliance to score points.
Absolutely we can . One win becomes two wins and then confidence and momentum carries us to a succession of more wins where we start to believe we are unbeatable and cant be beaten . That's the culture we can start building from this week
Without Api I'm not even confident we'll avoid the spoon
Well if there is one small positive it is that we are still inside the June 30 deadline. It gives us some outside hope of a last minute recruitment to cover the glaringly obvious lack of depth at hooker seeing as Trent won't pick Hastings. I can't see the NRL giving us permission to play Fainu (presuming he is even near ready enough ??) given we have both Hastings and Brown in the squad, both of whom we have used as a back up hooker previously. Our only hope is we offload one of Brown or Cletus and get a dummy half we can actually get some value out of before June 30.
Every week at training, Trent should put 17 numbers in a hat and each player takes one. That's where they play that week. We keep doing it until the pieces fit together. Simples.
Great idea CC. There is a handy young bloke called Matt Parcell runnIng around in the ESL and killing it by most reports.
