Good on Catalans for being the club to grow a set and not listen to the snowflakes.
Any NRL club should’ve been able to sign him if the association wasn’t run by a bunch of politically correct morons. But on the other hand let’s criminals play.
He will start carving up in the ESL and they will use his highlights in promotional videos.

They talk about rugby league being a game of inclusiveness but a bunch of you have made him an outcast for following his religious beliefs. Just because you don’t agree with his views it doesn’t mean you can make him an outcast.
I use his method to judge people to judge him. Im very resonable like that.

Folau believes gay people are in danger of going to hell. People who don't believe in hell have no reason to care what he says, and people who think he is wrong about homosexuality should care even less.

There is no small irony that those who claim to be motivated by love and acceptance for all are so determined to ruin a guy's life and so bitter when it doesn't stay ruined.
What if a sportstar had condemned all black people to hell (curse of Ham) or implied that women were inferior to men (An-Nisa, 34). Would that be reason enough to remove him from the public spotlight? Where is the line?

I don't think his career should be ended in any way and I don't think there are that many who really want that either (if he stopped preaching some of his views). People deserve respect and the opportunity to move on. But if he wants to cling onto and preach ideas which cause harm to others then people have a right to want to distance themselves from him. If he does what he says and shuts the F up then good luck to him.
I think the bigger problem of the media spotlight has a lot to do with the fact that no one in the media would be brave enough to have an honest discussion about the danger of religion being used to discriminate against other, unless it's directed towards Muslims - but then ironically, a lot of these types are the ones pushing for greater religious protection.

They talk about rugby league being a game of inclusiveness but a bunch of you have made him an outcast for following his religious beliefs. Just because you don’t agree with his views it doesn’t mean you can make him an outcast.
If his views weren't based on religion would they still be acceptable? Do you think it is acceptable to have and voice prejudiced views regardless of where they come from or do they need to be supported by something?

Total nutbag with loopy beliefs but I believe in free speech .Why be so upset ???
Our precious new age western modern society makes me sick to my balls.
Who's upset? I imagine most of the gay (LGBQI etc) community are sick of being called wrong, immoral, unnatural etc but I haven't heard anyone saying they were upset by the comments. Doesn't mean there weren't any - if would definitely hurt if you were a young gay person who looked up to Izzy. But I really haven't seen the outrage you seem to be referring to - most of the controversy was around his dismissal and whether it was fair.
I think most people just don't want to have anything to do with a "Total nutbag with loopy beliefs". But imagine the uproar (and politial consequences) if the media criticized Christian religion.

Hurt,upset,disgusted,exasperated,appalled,panties in a knot,choking on a soy chai latte.
Trust me ,some politically correct weiners somewhere were upset .Everyone's upset these days.

Haha, yes.The ‘woke’ brigade are some of the nastiest people you could ever meet.

Oh, yes, that’s never happens, right?!

Yeah, I don’t think the public outrage about anything he said is really the point. I have a couple of friends I’ve known since school days who’ve spoken really eloquently recently about what it was like for them growing up gay - and we went to high school in the middle of Hillsong territory. Both have talked about being uncomfortable and even disgusted with themselves for not living up to the image they were supposed to, one in particular faced massive conflicts between his religious upbringing and who he is, both decided they were safer hiding in the library than trying to pursue sports they enjoyed (because of the flak they were copping from other boys). Folau spruiking his crap is the kind of thing that contributes to kids feeling that way about themselves, and in some cases self-harming or suiciding. What’s been discussed recently is how my friends and their respective partners felt like they had to pretend to be someone else for most of their lives, and have only recently been secure enough to figure out who they are under all the layers of ‘fitting in’ changes they made as teenagers.

If you want to discuss your views in your church, or around the table with like-minded adults who are secure in themselves and free to argue back if they see fit, knock yourself out. But when you know full well a lot of your fans/followers are impressionable kids and teenagers, don’t abuse your public reach to gob off with your damaging, exclusionist baloney with no regard for who’s going to take it to heart and take it out on themselves.

Let them bait him.

He is is a misguided dill - whose life is built around a credulous acceptance of fairytale beliefs, not an acceptance of facts.
Many people build a life around UFO conspiracies yet we don't judge such people as harshly.

Not sure what "the acceptance of facts" has to do with this topic, Izzy has never claimed Gays and Lesbians don't exist.

Do I care that he's back in league and will play for Catalans? Obviously enough to comment here, but mostly not really.

Like anyone, Izzy is entitled to his opinion. I just hope he now realises that, especially in today's commercialised sporting world, its best to keep certain opinions to himself during his playing career. Let him sprout off all he likes once he's retired, but just stick to playing for the time being.

Hopefully he has learned from his ARU sacking. Only time will tell.

Many people also believe Souths and the rooters have a salary cap and we dont judge them.
Oh hang on we do. Muppets.

I am trying to reconcil the difference between Folau's comments criticising people who walk a different path than he does ..... and your comment criticising any people that share his belief in a God ..... as misguided dills believing in fairy tales ....

I am certain many of our Silvertails brethern will find your comments insulting ....,

Totally vacuous to imply all ‘criticism’ is equally harmless or harmful. How about try a quick google search for ‘gay bashing’, it is a thing.
Say, if a player insisted on brazenly posting Nazi propaganda would you advocate we cheerfully ignore that, too? Hopefully not!

Vacuous .... I was not aware that there existed a sliding scale of hurtful criticism .... I would have thought that a non-vacuous person would consider that the depth that a particular issue was held by a particular person, and the amount to which that person identified themselves, thier self worth and personal esteem ... would be the meter by which such criticism would be measured ...

I am surprised that a person of your empathy cannot see that a person who had believed and lived a life dedicated to their God ... would be mortally shattered by being sneered at and told they were not only wrong, but their beliefs were a fairy tale and that they were a misguided dill ...

PSS ... Does the pathetic playing of the hysterical gay bashing and nazi card win you many arguments ...
