80 min back row

Barrett has persevered with developing Sironen and Winterstein and both continue to improve. Suddenly we have an entire back row capable of playing 80 minutes. Not that they will all necessarily do that every week, but it certainly creates good options for the vital front row interchange.

It's because the first three hit ups are Turbo Uate and Jorge. Followed by a couple of props. The second rowers don't involve themselves in the hit ups they are staying as predominately edge runners. This leaves them fresher and allows them to play the eighty and compete in defence - all our best scramble and on line repulsion hinges on sironen and winterstein being the bedrock along with our centres.

Formula seems to be working. You can't criticise winterstein or sironen for lack of hit ups because they are being told to get out of there.

Honestly - unheralded backrow (for now), but they are just blasting the opposition, especially in defense.
