Three grand finals in a row in the 90's. But I still shake my head that we only got the chocolates in 96. Nepotism did not improve the footy team.

Probably should have got better results with those 81 - 84 sides , very high proportion of top line players but didn 't quite gel when it really mattered and against and going down and generally acknowledged to probably one of the best era of quality Eels lineups in G F 's in 83 and 83 .
By far the best performed side in 1995 but again , just failing to put it together and a late season drop in form and against a very determined Dogs in the G F
A blatant forward pass and that 7 tackle debacle against them did not help at all either of course .
Thought a well drilled and coached side in 96 and the less said the better again about the off the record reports of the playing enhancement condition of some of the Knights players in that 97 G F

He is actually a really good player,unfortunately a lot of injuries.
Tough and good defender,he looked good early this year but Ciraldo gave him **** all minutes and then he went back to Reggie's.
Think they want to give opportunities to some younger middles than a guy who is a bit injury prone.

Not sure if we can even retain Bullemor or Talau(no idea about DCE),not a lot of money coming available amongst those guys mentioned unless DCE retires.
Possibly looking at bunch of guys underachieving or overlooked at other clubs like we have been doing lately.

6 Doesn't fit into 5. Lehi would come in. You can have the best backline if you want, but if you don't have the forwards to set the platform. It's rendered useless. It's called salary cap management bud

Maybe not as discouraging in some respects , Condon moving on , Pau"Avasa a straight swap for Paulo , Matterson and James hardly in the priority grouping .
Guys like Faulalo and Schoupp , Gordy and Arthur probably just slight upgrades but possibly Talau a bit more on that metric .
Thought also that the cap was going to 11 . 3 mil or so next season
Any thoughts on Arthur possibly transitioning into a 13 role , maybe can or has bulked up a bit , doesn 't lack attacking ability or ball skills , would need a harder edge in defence and another kicking option but admittedly less likely if he was more based in the ruck area .
Brown i guess would be still more suited or considered playing some 13 during a match , can't see it at prop or edge .
D C E playing on in 26 , probably can but that may be it .

Sorry Al,was just replying to a post in regards to probably not having a lot under the cap to pick up a big name player.
Was just suggesting there may not be room for a little while,personally hope that we can retain a bunch of them.
I rather like Talau,Faulalo,Vaega,Bullemor,CheeKam,Tevaga, Pua'Avase,Arthur and Schoupp,just feel like a bunch might move on to better opportunities.

What do think of him smoking. Ability to cover left edge and prop seems like a tick straight up.

I saw him a few years back and was impressed with his debut and thought he was a real player,really ripped in and a good defender.
I have a feeling he may do a Brown and win a top 30 spot.
It will sound crazy,but I think he is a better prop than Aloiai,Sipley,Jake,Brown and James,if he stays fit he would be in my top 17 with our current squad,that is not a knock on them,just a wrap for him.
He was a beast on the edge as a kid,he finished the year off after round 16 uninjured and I really hope he builds on it,just don't think he fitted what Ciraldo wanted,they are jettisoning a bunch of props this offseason.
I wonder if Seibold is going to give him a look on the edge,hope he does.

Yeah nothing wrong with letting preseason decide who grabs a top 30 spot. That's a pretty big wrap. Only 23. If he has some leg speed he's ticking a lot of boxes.
