So you do agree that Scotty isn't spending enough money. You see it the coach that needs an upgrade. I see it our rosters that needs an upgrade to know what the coach can and can't achieve. Either way club needs to invest some dollars this off season or we will be right back in the field. It's an old roster. And in the forwards oh so very slow. I got my doubts even Bellamy could get AOA or Jake to bend a line.Seibs had his chance this season
Going down heavily to the sharks and losing at home which cost us a critical Home final
Then being totally out played by the roosters and eliminated
Seibs has a Good roster
He has both origin captains
He has the Top Turbo and plenty of speed in the back line
He has accomplished halves
He has a Big pack and the unstoppable Haumole
What Seibold Has not done is over achieve
I do not believe that Seibold is the one to take Manly to the top
Scotty should have spent more money and got Bennett at Manly
You watch Souths go up the ladder next season
Please dont tell us that Seibold has singed for another 3 years ....

When they do their major membership launchwhen do you think the club will release some news re signings etc?
My grandsons been mates with him since school. He's got nothing bad to say about him but he bought a new car recently....Well...in that case munster must have had to take out a huge bank loan to pay off everyone he knew as a kid.
When (if) they buy anyone elsewhen do you think the club will release some news re signings etc?
Also Dolphins club is apparently loaded. And Souths have very wealthy owners. And the Eels get a new stadium every few years (I think their problem has mostly been incompetence rather than lack of money). And Dogs now backed by billionaire Laundy. And that leaves the rest of us with most teams operating on a tiny profit funded 99.9% by the NRL to “ make up the numbers “.
mestrov kinda sucks, he won't be able to make big moves like other clubs can/haveAlso Dolphins club is apparently loaded. And Souths have very wealthy owners. As for Manly, some positive signs:
- now has training facilities and new playing surface at Brookie
- Mestrov has taken steps to strengthen pathways
- and been able to talk Penn into scrapping the crazy Magic Round 'home-away' game
Don’t think Tony sucks , but agree he’s limited in what he can do.mestrov kinda sucks, he won't be able to make big moves like other clubs can/have
Yes I guess I’d forgotten about the Dogs but you need more than a Billionaire, it’s a list of lots of other very well heeled benefactors that you need. Check out the Roosters board , it’s a who’s who of Australian business. Also Dolphins club is apparently loaded. And Souths have very wealthy owners. So he is restricted in his ability to manoeuvre, presumably because Scott makes it so, therefore Big Tony sucks?mestrov kinda sucks, he won't be able to make big moves like other clubs can/have
As my mate says, we are in a safe liberal seat and have been for a long time, so we will never get anything. Abbott, Gladys and others have gone so we will get zilchmestrov kinda sucks, he won't be able to make big moves like other clubs can/have
Dolphins, Warriors, Dogs, Souths also super wealthy.I think we all know what we need but keeping what we have ( that’s good to fair ) and attracting 2-3 big names is nigh on possible unless Nick Politis decides he loves the Sea Eagles all of a sudden.
Let’s face it it’s clear the Penn’s see this as a plaything , and whilst it’s been nice to have them so we don’t go belly up their lack of investment does show.
Compare the pair.
The Riff , backed by their giant money making juggernaut leagues club no doubt have very good facilities and a great coaching system, AND a cast of thousands just waiting for a crack.
The Drizzle ( I’ve seen it ) have THE best facilities and THE best football department money buys , they are well backed by being a “ one team one town “ scenario and News Ltd. They are in essence a QLD team transplanted in Melbourne so have that huge draw to pull on for players.
The Rorters , enough said , Uncle Nick and his merry band of billionaires.
The Donkeys , have all the facilities ( a donor just built them a $25 million dollar training facility ) , News Ltd and the biggest sponsor list in the game HOWEVER their issues are more to do with old boy infighting / coaching etc , IF they get this right they’ll be a juggernaut again.
And that leaves the rest of us with most teams operating on a tiny profit funded 99.9% by the NRL to “ make up the numbers “.
Sorry but I just can’t see anything different unless ( for us ) there were major changes like a buyout by a billionaire or a couple of billionaires who are happy to share halvsies.
The top 2/3 will continue to be the top 2/3.
A team will make up the top 4 and may change each year.
The rest fight out for positions 5-8 and are cannon fodder.
And the rest just there to make up the competition in the normal season.
If anyone thinks that’s different happy to hear your point of view, but that’s the NRL in 2024, just like the EPL, just like the UK super league.
Everything would change if the NRL brought in a points equalisation scheme , the salary cap would be no longer the cap it would become “ the amount funded per club “. Sure the rich clubs would always get the very best players , Tedesco in his prime could have been paid 5 million a year by Uncle Nick , 10 million if he wanted but each club would only be allowed 1 or 2 Tedesco’s as they might take up say 10% your cap points, 2 of them 20% , 3 , 30%
And then you still need another 27 players.
That’s my idea of changing the system so that there are different teams playing each year & back to back would be a revelation , a four peat , impossible.
But , that’ll never happen.
As my mate says, we are in a safe liberal seat and have been for a long time, so we will never get anything. Abbott, Gladys and others have gone so we will get zilch
So how come some Northern Beaches’ seats, both federal and state, are currently held by Independents? Including at state level, the seat (Wakehurst - held by Michael Regan) that Brookvale Oval lies within? As my mate says, we are in a safe liberal seat and have been for a long time, so we will never get anything. I thought the Teals got in!As my mate says, we are in a safe liberal seat and have been for a long time, so we will never get anything. Abbott, Gladys and others have gone so we will get zilch
You seem to know alot or pretend too, and no I dont get involved with politics, I just know it used to be a safe Liberal seatSo how come some Northern Beaches’ seats, both federal and state, are currently held by Independents? Including at state level, the seat (Wakehurst - held by Michael Regan) that Brookvale Oval lies within?
Or have you had more time off from observing politics, than Rip Van Winkle’s bunk light?
Labor are in minority government in NSW, so they cannot afford to completely ignore the concerns of Independents like Regan.
I mean, it's a great bit of myth-making, but I call bull**** on this. Are you really telling me nobody has ever said of NAS or Brandon Smith or even Cameron Munster, "He's a bit of a dick"? How about Josh Ado-Carr? The Storm have had - and still have - their share of dicks.A Johns on nine.com.au about how Bellamy recruits players:
The key - says Johns - is the unique recruitment policy Bellamy and his football boss Frank Ponissi have in place.
"They go back to the school, they will phone the principals, school teachers, they go to junior coaches, people in the area where they grew up - and if one or two people say 'he's a bit of a dick', they don't sign them," Johns said.
