Wonder what happened with the Michael Chee Kam to Manly earlier speculation .
Obviously with Lawton moving on ,still a bit skinny in the edge department .
Not to say that Chee Kam would be an ideal gain there and still have confidence that Burbo can go well enough there but only Waddell at this stage , maybe the only other viable option .
Navale , a middle on all indications , noticed some references that the lower grade edge Max ? Hayley was showing some promise but a big step up to i st grade .
Would have to think, still some reasonable money on offer for a decent forward
No doubt a bit going on behind the scenes ,so guess will just have to wait and see
It would be nice to hear some "actual" news from our football club regarding recruitment and retention for 2025. Two stories on recruitment in over a month are not good enough from the club, in my opinion. One of the stories is about the retention of Jon Clarke, and the other is about the recruitment of Jazz Tevaga,

Scott Fulton is gone "
and so are the Big signings of Super star players like Koula and Olakaitau who are arguably the most exiting players in our game
Never had Super star Status signing since
Good Job Tony Mestrov
Keep it up son !

Ouch ! Gees MoB did you take your wife to the hospital or the panel beaters…in my day they used to use plaster for a broken leg …. Anyway we wish her a speedy recovery..
There was a cast initially, but she’s moved to a moon boot now.

It not a broken leg as such , rather the ankle smashed.

It’s a major major injury , she may well be 6-8 months before she can walk again and 12 months to normal.

Think it would be a case again of just not that much available in the open market to suit Manly "s present forward preferred acquisitions since season 's end .
And maybe also just waiting for or anticipating those unexpected developments that do occur from time to time in an off season with the likes of Bateman and May in recent times becoming available .
Actually did not mind the possible consideration with Chee Kam on a basic contract, probably still has some genuine athletic ability but not so keen on Taukeiaho ,
However again with his train and trial arrangement , probably no big deal so to speak .
Hope the reasoning bringing in Tevaga can be justified .
Plenty of behind the scene " Chatter" and again in the present circumstances for the club , probably quite understandable.
Not trying to be negative going forward but sure would have been a very encouraging situation if both Bateman and May could have been bought in and guess that it unfortunately can attributed back to the Alioai re signing .
Maybe some consolation if his contract has been revised down quite a bit and he can come good again on a regular basis but only a maybe regrettably

All the best with your wifes recovery Mark.

Heard a rumour we are swapping tevaga for may. 🫣
That would be a turn up for the books and would no doubt be an interesting arrangement and wonder how Tevaga would feel about that if accurate but it is a highly professional code.
Some indications apparently that Tevaga could manage a 9 role to whatever extent which may be a plus but May is a generally recognized power type forward and should offer a genuine boost to Manly "s forward stocks .
Maybe a long shot but the silly season is in full swing so guess that nothing can be ruled out

Wish your wife a speedy recovery mate. Tough to get on the mend from these big injuries as you get older too. I Just had my mother in hospital since last Thursday with some real touch n go stuff. Fortunately on the mend now.
Cheers

Hope the recovery can go well .
Had an older sister who sustained a badly broken lower leg some time ago and eventually came good .
Modern or a bit more modern treatment and technology certainly helped.
Maybe a good time to spend some extended time with your two daughters in the recovery stage if you can manage with the grandkids or one lot of grandkids

What’s signing players got to do with Aloia’s contract extension? He was pretty good this year on the paddock. How about reducing Jrbo’s massive salary! He’s the one overpaid & causing salary cap problems. Josh is more than likely 1/2 of what Jake earns.

Jake is/was not off contract.

You can't just cut a players wage whenever you feel like it.

Buy Brandon Smith today.

Forget everyone else.
Great player on his day although he hasn’t seemed to run himself anywhere near as much since moving to Roosters which is his best attribute. Also has his off field problems & overpaid at $850k a season. In saying that if he was our starting hooker in 2025 id feel a lot more confident to win the comp then seeing Croker there

Yep , she ( and me ) will be 70 next year and the older you get the longer the recovery is. But she’s a real Trooper and will be working very hard on the physio.
