Which is fine, but my comments were specifically related to the service between DCE and oku and the difference when foran filled in on the right
I was just adding on to someone elses point

Maybe you were in a rush, maybe the Dce love burns strong in this one, or maybe other , but overall i think you might have gone off early. No harm . Dce for PM, as long as he represents the right, its a well oiled machine he oversees out there,

I guess what I am saying is there is no benefit to the team if DCE is not playing out there as the overall results are not as good (and at his age you know what you are getting / he is not going to change)

Anyway how long is this off season.....
 
The one thing we have to do is tighten the defence on our right edge.

I don’t care who fills the role, however, it is an issue. If Haumole moves to the left edge that may be the answer.

Disagree (but only because the off-season is very long)
The forwards is the one thing that needs to improve. Not far off but ... off!

That article that the club was trying to offload someone to afford Volkman. Then out of no where considering Bateman on large $. I just wonder if the coach going Lodge over Aloiai late in the year signals who's being shipped. I know Josh was not long ago resigned but stranger things have happen. And the difficulty if both articles were accurate, it would have to be someone on decent coin.

If AOA was 450k and Lodge takes his place at 250K. Is that the difference in squeezing both Volkmann and Bateman in?

You would think a Rich man like Scotty Penn would have a pretty good accountant.

But we need something new in the forwards.

Might even explain why Roses may want em to punch on with each other.

Anyway perhaps we need to brace for an out we weren't expecting.

I don't know that it's that black and white in terms of assigned $$$ to players.

I could be wrong, but I imagine the club have coin to spend on an edge forward (based off the Tupouniua offer and Bateman rumour) and are keeping their powder dry, i.e. not going to sacrifice any of those funds to strengthen another position. For example, I'd be surprised if the club were hunting for an edge forward, before hearing that an injury-risk fringe half is now on the market, and changing tact with their cap in an attempt to lure said half to the club. Further, Volkman is more than likely going to be a cheap depth signing. Maybe it's about freeing up spaces in the top 30, rather than $ value?
 
Another option if DCE retires next year. Garrick could have a word with him

Boyd is back-up potential only I think.

Arthur has more upside as a Dce replacement, glad we have him I hope injuries are behind him.

Wishart - yeah look throw the chequebook at him, he’s great.

Bateman, he has something different if his head is right. We don’t need another hit-up merchant, we have plenty of them. So could be a good move.
 
A yes to Tannah Boyd from me.

He's a workable NRL half. Good goal kicker too which I always like in a half whose kicking game is such a big part of his job.

He's very suited to being DCE understudy the way he plays.
 
Think his ceiling is more as a back up,I have never been impressed by him as a starting halfback,solid at best,not a great runner,setting up players around him.
Decent organiser type,with a decent kicking game(maybe could be a decent fit as we lack that at times)
Both he and Arthur play on the right side,wonder if Arthur may be let go.
For me a back up to DCE next year and insurance policy/bridge to Walsh stepping up.
Interesting the article says Paulo gone and Pua'Avase on a supplementary deal opening up another top 30 spot.
Yes for me to sign him.

Seen some other articles claiming he's the DCE replacement. Utter clickbait bull****. Don't let it into your heads, he's replacing Wakeham / Humphreys as the second string backup half. When Humphreys was still viewed as a hooker by the club, we lost that Rabbitohs game, because Arthur was injured. A signing like this stops that from occuring.
 
I wonder how Pua' Avase goes from top 30 to Sup? I guess can contract out by agreement for consideration.

Actually we might have done the same thing years back with a big Prop we got from Bulldogs. Pretty sure he was in the Bulldogs top 30 or equivalent might have been 25 back then. Mid year pick up but when he came to us it was development spot or something less. What was his name!

*Zac Saddlers was who I was thinking of.
