Not only did she beat me, but I think that was the first time I’d not faded, and actually got through the 27 rounds. And that was because of her. I think she learnt early on that when I’d proclaim I have a good "gut feeling" about a game, that was more like I’d had a case of IBS, and to not listen to my gut feeling.

Well, well, well, I said, looking at three holes in the ground.

What a scintillating last round!

Cheers, tears, sneers, and beers abound in one of the most tightly contest tipping competitions since one poster named globaleagle beat out a field of amazingly talented experts. (lol).

With a two point buffer, @Mals was relaxing, happily chilling his Dom Perignon and brushing up on his Sabrage (that's when you open a champagne bottle with a saber, for all you unwashed peasants out there).

Yet the footy gods are a fickle lot and with one flick of a supernatural wrist and a dodgy bunker decision, @ABTK descended from Mt Olympus to demand his rightful place at the top of the podium!

Hazzah! We cheer two our co-champions who now must share the spoils.

Congratulations @Mals and @ABTK very well done indeed!

The winning total was 131 points (out of 204 possible).

There were four tipsters on 130 points, showing how close the competition was.

@dowdz , @eaglezap , @Fibro Eagle , and @Wombat Junior (listed alphabetically) had great seasons as well and were so close to the gold medal it was like King Midas sneezed on them.

My goal to please, please, please get onto the front page of tipsters came true in the very last round. It's the little victories that count (when one is that far behind the leaders).

Cheesily, but sincerely, it's the site that wins as the money to enter goes towards the site. Servers, hosting, programming, all cost money and now @Dan has 10-15 kids to feed, the entry fee to this comp goes a long way to keeping the site shiny and new.

Actually... Dan would probably type this himself, but who has the time with all those kids (plus, you know....this way you can read something I created, me...like wow..me.............)

All good fun , but jeez tipping is a nightmare these days with the bloody refs deciding who they want to win on occasion.
