Disappointing finals so far. Both no contest. Rorters are gone without Walker , Smith , Radley and Sharks are just not there. I actually think the winners of the 2 elimination games are a big chance to get to a prelim final but hard to see anything other than a boring , who cares GF of riff v drizzle.

Agree Mick. I actually think if we can get to a prelim v Melb we can worry them. If for no other reason than the rivalry and fact we always lift for them. Otherwise Pen v Melb is a lock for GF. Fingers crossed we can get up over the dogs. I’m not confident tho.

Have just seen the Cronulla post-match presser. I'll give Fitzgibbon credit for basically saying that Melbourne were the better team on the day rather than ranting about referees or whatnot.

But what can't really be forgotten is that Cronulla are now 0-4 in Finals under Craig Fitzgibbon. And remember, (not counting the 5th place playoff they won against Brisbane just to get into the 1989 Finals) Cronulla were 0-3 under his dad in Finals.

And Cam McInnes caused that table to fall

Its the same story as Manly and all the other teams, they just dont have the cattle.

They need to put a viewer discretion warning before showing Cam McInnes. I'm used to it and I still got a jump scare when I went to watch the presser.

Just my opinion.

Pretty clear the referees are prepared to let Panfas and Storm have their own way at the ruck. When they bring speed to play the ball and/or walk off the mark, most of the time the refs seems to get excited by the speed and react to it by giving six agains and penalties.

Meanwhile when the opposition have the ball, the Panfas and Storm get away with slowing it all down and there's no six agains and penalties.

I wonder if Adam Gee is missing becuase if he officiates like the 2023 grand final, there would be no/few six again and penalties, leaving Panfas and Storm having to beat opponents in a grind. Or what we may call a proper game of rugby league semi final football contest.

Just some thoughts.

The irony is that the dogs game would probably be the hardest for us if we were to go all the way… given our unpredictable topsy turvy performances this season.

Pinga has been in some stellar form recently, and a great game so far.

Perhaps we are seeing signs of him finally maturing. He could really start to live up to the hype if he continues on this trajectory, though, I’d highly recommend he get himself far away from Newcastle.
