Canterbury look set to follow Canberra’s grand final example and raid the best English Super League talent in a bid to future-proof the Bulldogs’ front row.

Walmsley, 29, and Thompson, 24, have played for England and will represent Great Britain in the four southern hemisphere Tests against New Zealand, Tonga and PNG, which start this month.

Leilua is also set to depart the nation's capital as the club attempts to free up salary space in a bid to retain the nucleus of the side that made the grand final. The Bulldogs are prepared to table a deal of about $500,000 a season for up to three years in order to lure him to Belmore.

Val Holmes has given up his dream of playing in the NFL and will suit up back in rugby league for the Cowboys in 2020.
Reports emerged in News Corp papers overnight that Holmes is poised to meet with Cowboys coach Paul Green in New York tonight.
But Wide World of Sports has learned that Holmes has already agreed in principle to join the Cowboys on a contract worth around $1 million.

Mika Sivo extends with the Squeels......but only for one more year which will keep him there until the end of 2021.

I reckon he'll jump at the first big money offer from Rugby.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Warriors are the latest club to enter the race for the Brisbane Broncos teenager, with the New Zealand franchise preparing a $1-million-per-season offer for the damaging forward,

The massive deal would deliver Fifita the richest contract in Warriors history.
The Warriors face stiff opposition, with Fifita being chased by a string of clubs including the Rabbitohs, Roosters, Bulldogs and, of course, his current club, the Broncos.

According to The SMH, the Canadian second tier team has big plans to gain promotion into the English Super League, (which they've already done ffs - journos!) and is prepared to pay Williams as much as $9 million over two years, according to a source with knowledge of the contract negotiation.

.....Meanwhile, after falling one short of premiership glory, Jordan Rapana has signed with rugby union after the Raiders couldn't fit him into the salary cap.

I'm almost done. Who's with me ? @@

Great news on the horizon. Let's hope it's all signed off on as they say in the next 24 hours.

Manly Sea Eagles on cusp of re-signing Jake and Tom Trbojevic.

The Sea Eagles have won the race to keep the Trbojevic brothers Jake and Tom at Manly, with the club set to re-sign the siblings just before rival teams can prize them away.
|
SEA Eagles superstars Tom and Jake Trbojevic are expected to sign multimillion-dollar deals with Manly in the next 24 hours.

Well-placed sources told The Daily Telegraph that Manly had tabled long-term offers and the brothers were ready to accept.

Tom and Jake were presented with the offers through their manager, Paul Sutton, over the past 24 hours.

It is understood Tom and Jake are more than happy with the terms and are ready to agree.

It could even happen on Thursday afternoon, before the November 1 deadline where rival clubs are allowed to sign them for 2021 and $80 million worth of talent comes on the open market.

The Daily Telegraph understands the combined worth of Tom and Jake comes to nearly $2 million a season.

Sea Eagles officials were on Thursday morning awaiting final confirmation from Tom and Jake.

Despite interest for the high-profile brothers, they had always maintained a strong desire to remain at Brookvale.

Manly are keen to nail down the Trbojevic brothers before Friday’s November 1 deadline when rival clubs can lodge official offers for the pair.

Tom is currently in Australia while Jake is in New Zealand with the Australian Kangaroos.
