2017 and Silvertails and how you can help

Hi All,

I really want to make this a great year for Silvertails. Now is the time for me to add new features and make changes to the site before the kick off of the season. It always irks me that the silly facebook pages and groups can get thousands of members and we are stuck to a core few, given we now have the app and it has proven successful in 2016 and we may be on the cusp of a better year, I ask that you all go out recruit and bring your friends across, there is no reason we shouldn't be outstripping the users in those Facebook groups.

So lets go out recruit and build the site bigger again, the more users we have the more diverse opinions we get and the more appealing the site becomes for all of us.
In the next few days I am going to setup a referral system where you can earn a free year of premium ad free Silvertails by recruiting members. The more you recruit and that fill you in as the referrer the better your chances. So get telling your Sea Eagle friends and get telling them to add you as the referrer. Post the link on Facebook and wherever else, lets build this bigger.

Next: Do you have suggestions for the site? a feature you would like to see?
Then let me know PM me or add it in the suggestions and I can start coding it or find an existing plugin. What things would you like to see which will improve the experience for you?

I'd love to see us with 5000 active members by the middle of the season and am more than confident that is an achievable number!

Hi All,

I have added an invitation system. If you go to the following URL
https://silvertails.net/account/invitations

You will see your unique link, you can give this link to people and if they register you will get the the referral credit for it. Invite and have 30 people register (I am going to probably change this threshold to be lower) and you get free premium membership for 1 year!

Premium gives you no adverts, and a much faster experience and moving into this year if we get a lot of referrals and build as I hope then we will add some more features like an exclusive forum as well for premium members.

It's high but it equates to one dollar per referral if you look at it that way it's actually a very low rate!
I have high aspiration for this year and think 30 is doable for many people.
I'll see if I can add a pyramid to the referrals too to make those count

I hope it works well Dan but I don't understand the world according to apps ... I have an old Nokia phone ... (no smart phone), and a basic pc. I don't have a lot of Manly fans as friends and so I guess I'm doomed to a silvertails full of adds & popups .... such is life ...

I am in the same boat as you nightster . I have the basic pc and an old phone and I live in the South of Sydney where every one hates us Sea eagles but we can always spread the word by mouth and even if we get a few to join here it would be good for the site

Hey....not saying you have to, but in case you guys 'n gals didn't know, you can pay to be a premium member on here (no private members zone...though the mods have a secret forum...) and that way the ads and stuff don't appear.

I'm not casting any aspersions on anyone's financial situation or life priorities....I'm just mentioning it in case people didn't know it was a potential option.

E.G: I had no idea you could become a member of the club until I was much older than I care to admit.

How did we survive before the internet? 🙂

Ok I'm now a Premium Silvertail .... apart from now feeling very superior I don't have those damn popups ... worth the $30.00 thanks for letting me know that option Dan I'm not so grumpy now ... for a while anyway ...

There shouldn't be pop ups at any rate but the ads do make the site a bit slower by nature. The ad free option is a fairly big ramp up in speed

I'll have to investigate in the pop ups
