An off season fill in subject. Is it 2000 & 12, or Twenty-12?
If we're talking about Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture, we don't say the 1000, 800 & 12 overture,we say Eighteen-12. We don't say the Titanic sunk in 1000, 900 & 12, we say Nineteen-12.
Are you hip to my jive?
So, by that rationale, why do we stumble through extra syllables when logic would tell us it's, Twenty-12. (20-12)

Why not just '12, '13 '14 etc.
I did hear Tchaikovsky weighed more while recuperating a month after he copped a Nutcracker injury , playing fullback for the St.Petersburg Wildboars, at Swan lake oval. He turned to composing, but he could've been a contender if not for that Nutcracker.

May date back to the Roman Numerals System - 2012 = MMXII.
Its an English language idiom that only appears once we are into a new decade of a century. No one said Twenty-One for 2001 etc.

Following on this conundrum, why do analogue time pieces show four o'clock as IIII instead of the correct IV:huh:

This topic leads directly to the subject of the biggest gap in our trophy cabinet: namely the year numbers in which we haven't yet won a comp. Regard the table below.

Based on this information, it's obvious Toovey is focussing on developing our youngsters in 2013 in order to make a full-scale tilt at back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. We clearly wasted a bit of energy in 1996 and 2008, otherwise we'd be closer to the full set.
