According to that article Dennis Ward was even smaller than Tooves. Same height but a couple of pounds lighter. He was only 16 when he debuted in first grade at Canterbury.

Only 16 on his debut and smaller than Tooves ? He must have been a tough bugger to survive the brutal 70's
Most small bodies do come with big hearts
Could be 100% wrong but didn't Les Hanigan have the Brookie pub for a while? Maybe publican?
