In the lead up to the week, Manly selectors dropped former Norths centre C McMahon and promoted former reserve grade Norths player, A Kellock.
Other news, the NSWRL refused to install an amplification system at the SCG and deferred a decision on having a 3rd grade competition on Sundays.

Report from the Sydney Sun,

The following report from the League, clearly states Jersey Flegg was at both games, Brookvale and at Parramatta, a bit confusing when both games were on at the same time.

During the week, Gordon Willoughby has to have an XRay for a possible fracture of the elbow and is doubtful for the game.
Big news, Manly officials have not been given any indication from Johnny Bliss if he is to accept an English offer.

An exciting match, beaten by a late try off a cross field kick into the corner. 3rd grade recorded their second win of the season.

News of the day, Labor party in NSW & Qld voted back into power with swings against them. Big news is, car crashes into polling booth and the woman attendant kept on issuing polling slips.

Not a good day for the Seagulls. Had to happen but adds to the satisfaction of paying them back in 1994.

To add, Johnny Bliss did not play due to an injured leg and is hopeful of laying next week against Easts.

Round 5 v Eastern Suburbs who are also winless with us and Parramatta.

Turmoil at the club during the week. The selectors have been dropped! Positions are up for re-election next week.
Reports are that we have signed Country 5/8 Ned Andrews and hooker A Weidesweiller. Both these Newcastle players tried out with the Cantabs (Canterbury to you youngsters) early in the season. Manly Secretary, Jack Munro says he knows nothing about the move. Where are you Buzz to sort this out!

News of the day, (the headline) BIG EXPLOSION BURNS 3 MEN IN SUBSTATION (next line) Woman electrocuted.

68 year old man chased a man in Rosebery for a mile and caught him. He had originally challenged the burglar as he was climbing through a window.

And Cornell University has found that FOOD INSTEAD OF LOVE MAKES WOMEN FATTER.
