Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

For me it’s not so much about the length of the extension, but more the quantum of payout if we elect to terminate early. Eg a 2 year extension and 6-9 month payout if we were to terminate for convenience would be fine.

    MVP: Rd 5 v Panthers

Toff Brown Aloia Super impressed with the Team as a whole. Started poorly but just hung tough and reaped the rewards.

Nope, never booed. I’d bang the signage or yell something stupid to try and put the goal kicker off, but not boo. In any event, booing a kicker is a bit different to booing a player because of traits someone doesn’t like. For the kicker, the crowd is trying to put him off in a specific...

There are degrees of dirty too. We have had plenty of players that other teams’ fans would call grubs or dirty. But ultimately they were ours and we loved them…

I think we are aligned. I agree booing is part and parcel of sport - there is a need for heroes and villains, but they need to be for the right reasons (there is never a universal right reason though). I much prefer the players I dislike getting smashed - just like Jorge on Munster! But credit...

I’m going to the Masters at Augusta next week and it is troubling to think I will be cheering for a Cameron Smith!!

    1. I like off field Trell. Hate on field Trell. 2.Have never booed any player and never will. I went close for Scam Smith, but now I acknowledge he is probably the best player I have ever seen. 3. People expect consistency on and off the field for those that ‘speak out’ on various issues. I...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Yeah he does seem like a nice kid. Personally I just want to see him happy. Someone on another thread made a comment about Cody Walker never looking happy; the same could be said for Schu. Honestly, if he fulfils his potential elsewhere I am ok with that. Ideally it would be with us but from...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Another way to look at it is perhaps dropping him to reserves was the go - it seems the answer to the question, “does he want to fight for it?”, is close to being answered.

    Refs' managing games:

I also often think the game is being managed and logical response is to stop watching (or consuming since NRL is in the entertainment business). But for some reason, I can’t!

    Nathan Brown Impact?

It’s one way to get width in your attack. But if you haven’t earned the right to go wide to begin with, it’s pretty easy to defend against.

That’s my perspective too. And I thought it was clear. Interesting how others see it differently!

Remember, It is Just a Game...

Perhaps the answer is staring us in the face: has the importance of fan commitment has been replaced by gambling revenue? Tribalism adds the specactle, the entertainment, but in a sport where the bottom line matters most, gambling trumps all.

    Nathan Brown Impact?

15 runs for 153m is not too shabby. I agree there were times where he was trying to play the link man and it would have been better if he tucked it under the arm and went forward, but I think that was more a symptom of how ****e our attack was.

    Nathan Brown Impact?

I thought he was good (again) today. Ran and tackled hard. Yes, a few handling errors, but wasn’t on his Pat Malone today. I thought he was one of the only guys who noticeably played with energy….

Remember, It is Just a Game...

Interesting question and I’m not sure I know how to answer it. I guess it’s always a risk in the day and age of professional sport but the focus is now on entertainment. If it’s entertaining, people will still part with their hard earned. And if you love sport, you naturally follow a team. I...

I think many players do care about the supporters. Just not as much as what many fans want or expect them to.

Remember, It is Just a Game...

I agree with the sentiment, but I do not think the likes of DCE and Brooks necessarily sleep well after a game like today’s. They are competitive and have to deal with substantial scrutiny for their performances. It’s not an easy job… I have some really sh&t days at work, where my performance...

It’s completely on the senior players, especially Tom today.
