    No no no no....all we ever talk about is how good a person is on the back of their attack. I would swap 2 fleet footed wingers and centres for people who can read defence and tackle. We must just find a way to stop teams scoring more than 20 every week. They're the teams that wins comps.

    That is so incorrect. Unfortunately Tom does not play anywhere near his best when injured. Even with needles, he still nursed his shoulder. In fact his only worth is to give those around him confidence that he may do something.

    Against the sharks there was no Tom. He attracts so much attention that everybody else's job is easy. There was a time in the game where Cronulla defended 12 tackles on their line when the game was still up for grabs. That's just not going to happen when Tom's in the form he is atm. That ...in...

    The problem is Jake needs a rest. I've thought for a couple of weeks now that he's got to have a break......Even bigger problem is, who's going to do his 40 odd tackles, distribute 2 in every 6 and take the odd hit up. Our defence is suspect at best and would be laughable without Jake shoring up...

    Our worst performance of t he year. 41 missed tackles. 40 put on us. 1 on 1 misses for tries. Just dreadful. Do they themselves believe they cannot win with out Tom. Crucial next year to have a defensive centre.

    What is not and can't be calculated is what a wealthy owner is able to give an individual player, by whatever means. eg lets say an owner plays a skins game against a new recruit for $10000.00 a hole and hasn't won a hole in 20 years. While this is only a rumour, you can see how it's legal...

    Disagree hugely, he's not a centre ...he was our best option happy to play there. Caught out with speed off the mark a couple of times but some of his first contact defence was heavy and as an edge back rower makes plenty of great plays and definitely good enough for our first 17 imo.

    Well you were absolutely correct. I think he's been going alright and couldn't understand all the critics. Well he showed you all today. Was fantastic in defence, played in different positions, scored a try and had a real dig. Congrats Burbo.

    It looked to me that we'd gone back to the Barrett days of defence. Let em come and hold them upright without any forceful first contact. Who wouldn't run flat out at that defence. Oh yes Trent was a genius......not.

    I'll give you another reason....he doesn't make that extra effort running across field that is required to make the last ditch tackle on a winger as he did so easily in 2021. Whether that's because he's cautious to run at 100%, I'm not sure. But he's certainly not the defensive player he was.

    Totally agree. Garrick sometimes is 'all about me'. He had chez and brooksy inside him when he kicked. Earlier in the first half Ola had arms clear to offload 10 out and Reuben's waiting another 10 back organising his next play....there is no next play if he just pushed up, easy try.

    Well don't take a peak at Manlys record in the wet...including the last 2 weeks. It's nothing short of abysmal and that's over 10 years.

    And Manly didn't cheat the cap....it was deducted from those wise NRL salary cap auditors who are allowed to show their discretionary powers (bias) that the negotiations weren't at arms length to the club.
