    Post-Game Discussion Dragons V Manly [Round 26, 2025]

Just analysing the potential 17-man squad for our final match and I reckon there will only be eight players who would have been in our top 17 at the start of the season. Just shows you how important injuries are to success. Still standing: Turbo, Saab, Hoppa Jnr, Brooks, DCE, Burbo, Bully, TKO...

Let's trial a NRL match WITHOUT the Bunker

In the final round there are two matches which are virtually meaningless: Tits V Wests, and Eels V Newcastle, providing a perfect opportunity to trial a few different rules. The most contentious, by far, is the Bunker. Introduced to 'stop the 'howlers' it has done the opposite, as seen in every...

    MVP: R 26 v Dragons

While Turbo and DCE were a class above tonight I'm giving my points to some hard workers: 3. Waddel (this is a first for me. He deservers some accolades) 2. Simpkins (I really think he is a good player) 1. Navale (should be our first chaoice lock in 2026)

All NRL Games [Round 26, 2025]

The Bunker is the worst change ever perpetrated on our sport. It sucks out all the spontaneity. You can't afford to get excited about a try because it will take 2-3 minutes for some clown watching it on TV to confirm or deny what your eyes have seen. And it changes results. It can't be...

Game Day: Dragons V Manly [Round 26, 2025]

I must applaud DCE for having another crack tonight. The guy can still play. Such a pity he made that unilateral announcement. Anyway, I'd like to see him play our final match but at 5/8 replacing Brooks. And give Walsh a shot at halfback.

The Clunker! Pretends to see the unseen. It's pathetic; reducing our sport to a joke.

    What happened at half time?

If the Storm wanted to beat Easts so badly why did they rest key players?
  9. The Who

    What happened at half time?

Melbourne Storm almost never lose when leading a half time. Melbourne Storm have never conceded 40 points in one half of football. Easts needed a win to guarantee their place in the final eight. Melbourne Storm had already qualified for the top two. There is no punishment for NRL teams which...

Canterbury was so cocky when it recruited Galvin, mistakenly thinking he was the missing piece in its premiership tilt. From what I've seen and read Galvin has hindered Canterbury's chances. But dropping him would mean Gus and Ciraldo were wrong. And we know Gus is never wrong. Just ask him.

Merge both clubs. Current both are in a race to the bottom. Together there may be a future for one mighty Northern NSW club.

It's not Penrith that we are critical of. It's the NRL rules that allow it to happen.

Yes, they are exactly what we need. Bravo. So why haven't we seen them when our season went into free-fall? Why persist with several old stagers who were never capable of improving the teams' chances? Oh, and by the way, who are still in the team this week. Far better to give us a glimp of our...

All NRL Games [Round 26, 2025]

You hear the word 'integrity' bandied around rugby league yet the NRL rules allow teams to deliberately sabotage their chances of competing to the best of their ability. The worst aspect of it is the help/hinderence it gives to other teams trying to qualify for a finals berth. Whilst in the...

    Pre-Game Dragons V Manly[Round 26, 2025]

Sorry, I have to disagree. I want all matches completed for the round by the end of the week, which is Sunday evening. Monday is a dud night. Most restaurants are shut. Crowds are poor. It just feels like an afterthought, and I'm sure players hate it.

All NRL Games [Round 25, 2025]

Everybody knows this tactic is used by pre-qualified teams, which is why the AFL did something about it and added a week buffer free from football before the finals start to stop the practice. It's time for the NRL to do something because it ruins matches.

Ever nicer for the team they are playing. In this case Canterbury. But what if they were playing Manly, or the 'Fins who need a win to stay in the race for a finals berth? With for/against playing a vital part in final eight finishing position these selections could amount to a rort. Melbourne...
