Game Day: Raiders V Manly [Round 23, 2024]

Shooting ourselves in the foot right now. Silly penalties and errors. Can’t let the 300 game man score either, it fully brings the crowd into it.

Game Day: Raiders V Manly [Round 23, 2024]

Gonna be a tough one today i reckon. Disheartening loss last week for the Raiders, they’ll have some tributes for Papalii’s 300th game and need to win to stay within finals contention. Ricky will have them fired up no doubt, will be a emotional contest for Canberra…

None of those players are realistically attainable at the minute unfortunately. All key for there respective sides.

    Pre-Game Raiders V Manly [Round 23, 2024]

Happy Karl Kawton keeps his spot at second row. Think its the correct lineup overall. Only argument would be Gordie or Simpkin for 14, but Gordie put in a massive shift and did well against the roosters so I’m all good seeing him keep his place.

Back 5 with Koula returning ?

Just looking at the different 1-5s and lineups in general, as much as I’m pretty skeptical about seibs taking us anywhere meaningful, i will say he has done a good job of adding depth to the roster. Especially in the outside backs. Personally i’d lineup the 1-5 as: 1 - Turbo 2 - Saab 3 -...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Corey Horsburgh reportedly requesting a release from the raiders. I know we need a 2nd rower and/or a middle forward with mobility ideally, but Horsburgh is a really good player, and in origin discussions at his best. Definitely a hot head, which can be a good or bad thing in terms of bringing...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Was just about to say this. I agree, Guymer can play lock and out on an edge. Young, good mobility, looks to have a nice motor and gets through tons of work. Would like to see us make a play at him for sure. Think he would benefit greatly from playing behind and being mentored by Jurbo and...

Haven’t replaced him since he left. I’d be all for bringing him back.

    2026 recruitment & retention

last year. Wouldn’t be offloading Garrick he’s a pretty important player for us in my opinion. Really good goal kicker, just a really good player when in form in general. Also think he’s pretty important yardage wise out of our own end, gets through heaps of work. Not sure when our cap...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Part of it with Garrick is he’s just a really good player. His form at centre for most the season hasn’t reflected how good he actually is. I agree that Garrick on the wing and Talau centre would be our best backline though. However, hopefully he can continue to improve as he gets more games...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Both Lehi and Faulalo have played majority of there football at fullback and centre so they would be definitely be in the mix.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Outside back depth is one of our strong points after the emergence of Lehi and Clayton whose gonna be on a top 30 deal next season. We need to invest in our forward pack, its not up to scratch with any of the best sides week in week out.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Jack Bird given permission to leave the Dragons per Michael Carayannis, would you take him at Manly to play 2nd row opposite Haumole? I think it would be interesting in terms of the versatility he would offer to the squad, but aging and has a pretty brutal injury record so not sure he’d be the...

    Post-Game Discussion Roosters V Manly [Round 21, 2024]

Basically every team in the comp has there Corey Waddells. Just the reality of the salary cap. For a minimum deal he’s about as good as your going to get so don’t really fault him for that. But we know what he is, decent player for squad cover but ideally shouldn’t be in the 17 week to week.

    Post-Game Discussion Roosters V Manly [Round 21, 2024]

Yeah your probably right am being a little harsh, just thought they weren’t dynamic in attack not that i was expecting them too be. Got through heaps of work, did a job and probably was the safer play overall than slotting Faulalo in the centres/wing.

    Post-Game Discussion Roosters V Manly [Round 21, 2024]

Turns out Burbo centre, Waddell 2nd row wasn’t the play. Clayton Faulalo is ready for first grade and should’ve slotted into the centres. Burbo and Waddell offered absolutely nothing in attack, Burbo had a couple poor defensive reads. Was interested to see how Burbo would go at centre against...

Game Day: Roosters V Manly [Round 21, 2024]

Poor line speed, not gaining any metres. Look slow through the middle. This is worrying stuff.

    Pre-Game Roosters V Manly [Round 21, 2024]

Would love to see Faulalo get a start but wonder if this isn’t the game to play him considering how important it is for our season. Waddell second-row, Burbo centre, Talau wing would definitely be the safer and more experienced option. Either way think both directions would be fun, interested...
