    Elgey Improving

looks like a good player. Seems that confidence is growing and liking how our unknown/ not rated (?) players look to be fitting into the team. Some nice play developing, not just hit it up and hope.

    Eye Gouge

in the clip I watched , could be wrong but Smith telling his team mate to think about it before he reports it. What is to think about? Why should the player affected have to complain? It was clear as day, officials are there to make the decision. Was it foul play or not? If refs missed it the...

    Crowds: NRL confused

we'll all still be at Brookvale long after the current suits are gone. Perfect day today .. this is the sound . of the suburbs

    1974 Highlights

comment a few posts above about league going backwards in Sydney.... there was a real buzz throughout the semi finals and grand final week was something every local community got right into if their team was involved. Even listening to Frank Hyde calling the game on 2SM was great. .. followed...

    1974 Highlights

great thread, thanks. The footage of Ian Martin with his trade mark 'bumping' was just how I remembered him running. Phil Lowe was brilliant too.

this photo is probably one of my earliest recollections of Manly. Ian Martin was a favourite player. Was Ken Irvine coming to Manly (and John O'Neill & Ray Branighan) when the anti Manly stuff started?

    Another Promise for Brookie?

never seen a ground like Brookvale Oval. It is unique. All the media suits who want to change it and say it is this and that are jealous. Ask the visiting fans of other clubs. It's why when the NRL have their genius strategy for teams such as Canterbury Bankstown or Balmain playing at their...

    Another Promise for Brookie?

enjoy what it is while it's still there. Remind the football club ('Sea Eagles' business) that watching Manly Warringah do well on the field is all that most supporters are interested in. Not the type of seat that someone else is sitting in. It's usually two to three hours that need to be...

    Leagues Club Live

but the private business who leases part of the Park could come up with a plan (maybe kicking the tin being the only feasible long term tenant) that is purely for the redevelopment of the facility (a sports ground), with the Council, that doesn't involve having to rezone and reclassify the land...

    Leagues Club Live

The disappointing part of the above is this the bit about funding being reliant on a masterplan including 10 storey apartments. Why? Isn't the leagues club site getting redeveloped in this way? It's a football ground. Build the grandstand, why does 'the plan' have to include a high rise development?

    Leagues Club Live

It can't be sold if it's classified as community land, is my understanding. A great thing as it protects it for the future. Grounds like ours are the type of grounds most people want to go to. I'd say visiting supporters like coming to Brookie. As said above somewhere, get rid of the ridiculous...

The games black eye for a buck

it's crap. Ch 9 and their commentators are embarrassing, cracking really funny (?) jokes in their going to a wedding clothes. but they do a great community service by telling people to gamble.. responsibly.. please.

2016 NRL Grand Final - Sharks v Storm

Man, what a choice. Cronulla have Fifita, Ennis and their coach and are S*per league zhite.. The others one's are a stain on Rugby League and as others have said have that grubby little man Smith ... probably make do with the AFL then... So it's Footscray for me.

    Finals thread

well played Penrith. They have a serious team there now and of who is left I hope they win it this season. Those tries in the 2nd half were beautiful to watch and what we are missing big time.

Ivan Cleary wanting to coachagain in the nrl

about Cleary leaving - maybe he didn't have the opportunity to stick with Manly and needed to work elsewhere. He's from here so I imagine he'd love to come back but cannot see why he would now. Des is history - no turning back for either Club or him I reckon. Reunions can be a let down and too...
