    Goal Kicking Duties for 2018

Don't know why Jake wouldn't have been tried as the goalkicker in a trial game. Matt Wright is no certainty to be in the team, and is not a top notch kicker anyway. Games are so close these days that kicking can be the difference. Look at how many games Roosters won by a few points last year...

    The new Lewis Brown

Must say one of the worst buys in my 48 yr history of supporting Manly. I can't believe he is an international, and the sooner we get rid of him the better. No pace, no size, no skill and an arm grabber in defence.

    Concussion replacement on NRL agenda

I was banging on about this to other supporters last year; when so many players are taken out by foul play, but the only penalty for the offending team is a player on report. More often than not the concussed player has to sit out the rest of the game, and the team then has only 3 on their...

Barrett on Big Sports Breakfast tomorrow

Barrett mentioned Wright first when discussing the goal kicking, and said he was kicking really well. With Walker not back till rd4 it seems Wright may play centre and be the goal kicker. However, I would prefer Kelly to be the kicker especially as Wright is only a fill in, and tbh his kicking...

    2017 Rugby League World Cup

I think it was a loose carry also. However, given it was the last play of the game he should have sent it up as a no try to have the video ref confirm his decision. Doubt it would have been ov

Joy for Jorge - 2 year extension

Someone posted Brian Kelly highlights in NSW Origin under 18's, where he kicked 6/6 including 3 from the sideline. Assuming he is a starting centre, then should also be the goal kicker, especially having had a full year's first grade experience under his belt.

    The Moylan Rage

Talk this morning that Cronulla looking to swap Maloney with Moylan. Do you think we could cajole them into swapping Brown for Moylan?

    Where Manly fell short

In relation to the Penrith match we were definitely dudded when it came to the try reviews, especially the Walker no try. The fact that the NRL has come out today with technology that they have been trialling with a line across the field,(which wasn't used in adjudicating the try on Saturday)...

    1977 Manly

Love seeing footage from that era, especially 3 of my favourite players, Johnny Gibbs, Graham Eadie, and Russell Gartner. It was a shame injury curtailed Gibbsy's career as he had blinding acceleration and was thrilling to watch in full flight with the head back and his little legs pumping.

Game Day: Manly v Bulldogs [Round 23, 2016]

Just want to say how pathetic we are at setting up for field goal. Aside from the poor passes from dummy half, why do our kickers stand to the right of the play the ball when they are all right footed kickers, and wonder why their kicks slew off to the right? DCE would be better off kicking left...

[Resurrected] Lewis Brown - 'The Utility Belt'

I haven't posted for ages but after going to the game last night I have to say Lewis Brown is one of the worst buys Manly has ever made. I can't believe someone who can't tackle and has no pace or ball skills could play first grade let alone 11 internationals for NZ! Leary was much better in his...

    2015 Rumoured and confirmed signings.

I watched the Saints v Bulldogs match and cannot believe NSW won last year's Origin with those pair of halves. Hodkinson is a great goal and field goal kicker and can tackle, but his attack is pedestrian and last tackle options are woeful. Reynolds is not much better and is a grub to boot. We...

I will not give up- beware only for supporters

Just saw the lineup this week. Cannot believe Tafua picked again after being targeted 2 weeks in a row due to his inabilty to defuse bombs. Even Hiku's defence has been atrocious and offered little in kick returns. If we played like last week we were no hope anyway, but why not try Blair and...

    Watmough

As much as I admire Watmough's toughness and the effort he puts in every week, I cannot understand why we use him to initiate second man plays. He cannot throw a decent pass and shoud leave the ball playing to others. He is a tremendous metre eater and occasionally gets a good ball out the back...

    Quickest team in the NRL??

I disagree with Ballin's speed,as much as I admire his work ethic and the way he holds the middle of the ruck in defence. Compare his creativity to Cam Smith or Robbie Farah or Isaac Luke and he is a long way off their attacking ability. Buhrer has also been disappointing in attack and when...

    Experimental Rules for Allstars 2013

I think penalising the team for kicking it dead will put more emphasis on judicious kicking and take out some of the negativity.

    Beaver

The fact that Menzies is still going strong at 39 shows what a champion player he is and was with Manly. Have no doubt he could still be useful off the bench for Manly, especially as he could handle centre with ease. The NRL should have kept him in the game due to his popularity with fans and as...

the other winger with wolfy ?

Any news on Whare's contract as there is a rumour he is being chased by the Bulldogs for next season.

Next to go to the Dogs....

Peter Cox has been around at the club for several years including 2008. He is independently very wealthy so if he goes to the Bulldogs it won't be for money. It would be a shame to lose a man with his passion and energy.

    Any spare grandstand tickets

I would love to go to the game tomorrow as I have the day off, and was wondering if anyone had a spare grandstand ticket that I would be happy to pay for. I know it's a longshot but if anyone has a last minute drop out can you keep me in mind.
