    Good accurate comparison... Thurston was a great player, and led the Cowboys through miserable seasons and to grand finals (including a premiership). I haven’t got a problem with DCE’s captaincy.

    I’m happy enough with this. Saab looks pretty slim, but with that height and a few weights in the off season, I think he will offer more than Garrick. I’m glad Waddell is gone too. He gives it his best, but he seems to be only a depth player at best. He’s probably a little small for his position.

    I agree that Sironen has that ability in his game, but I haven’t seen him doing it for most of this season. His leg injury is probably hindering him. I take your point though

    I don’t think Levi is as bad as the majority on here seem to think. I’m not saying I rate him highly... I just don’t think the hooking position has been our weakness this year. In my view, it is our backline and second rowers that have struggled. Sironen and Thompson hardly ever break the line...

    We’ve tried it a little this year, but maybe we need to start with either Taupau or AFB on the bench. For example, start with AFB and Paseka, and then bring on Taupau and Keppie. Might help stop the rot through the middle of the game.

    Suli had that great game in the finals against souths last year, but hasn’t really kicked on. I think he is still first grade standard, but I agree that Harper looked good... put 7-8 kilos on him in the off season and he could be a goer for sure.
