Imagine if we could do something like this in the future

I agree with Larissa - we can't be seen to copy the concept of Collingwood, that'd give the GFL too much satisfaction and bragging rights. But don't we have one of Australia's greatest writers as a huge fan? I reckon there's enough professionals in the ad industry who are on this site who...

    Interesting Richard Hinds article

Now that is the smartest thing any of us have said in this thread. I think. Take up membership, and get to the game. No matter when it's on at Brookie.

If memeory serves me correctly the Manly Club agreed to go to the SFS for a semi early in teh season? Maybe the Club needs to take more resposnibility to get supporters intersted and transported to a game like this? Re RE Perth - If your son has given you the flick, I'll go with you if you pay...

Apologies, wasn't necessarily directed at you. But I still find it perplexing that we can't get 20,000 to 25,000 to a semi final at the SFS. Are you going to Perth? I'm thinking of it. Could be interesting to see what sort of atmosphere is there.

Totally disagree with the comment about company execs. I'm not bloated, I've sat with and witness the same tribal atmosphere at SFS as exists at Brookie, witnessed the same from the other team's crazed supporters - especially when it's Roosters, Souths and Tigers. And even the very poor crowd...

    Interesting Richard Hinds article

As someone who drove up the F3 to Gosford many times (a great footy ground), has been to the SFS more times than I remember (also a good footy ground) and plenty of times out to ANZ Stadium (only good when nearly full), I could watch our team anywhere within reason. Brookvale is first choice...

    Season Launch - too expensive?

Is it just me or is $150 per ticket a bit steep for the season launch at Brookvale? I gather it's in a marquee? And while I'm at it - did anyone notice the spell checker on the forum doesn't think Brookvale is spelt correctly? Isn't that peculiar (blame Des?)

Manly - Storm rematch - in Perth?

Aside from the gain in revenue, isn't there a bigger point being missed? The NRL wants to widen the game and bring in new markets. This is a test of the viability of having a team in Perth (yep, tried before, but the game is more united now). If bringing a team from WA into the mix with an...

    Manly news for the Journos

Just heard things aren't working out for William Hopoate in Queensland and he's returning early to play with Parra this season.

    The future is in marketing

I'm not sorry at all. And I'm definitely not tired of any of it. "Maybe we could start by saying sorry to the rabbits, wests and the roosters . . ."

    Foran Interview

I am now confident we are going to do well this year and refuse to be nervous before every game like I've been for the last 45 years.

Is Peter Peters on the mug? It'd be a big mug

    Foran Interview

I'm not sure I really like this. In 2008 and 2011, if we're all honest, we weren't thinking "we're going to win the comp" - well, we might have hoped, but it wasn't a certainty by any means. And Des' - we're under the radar approach - worked well in both cases. Can't we just keep flying...

Dessie wiped from Manly premiers mug

I think its a shame and I for one (am I the only one?) think we should be bigger than this. Its petty and childish to remove his face from a mug. Des was a part of a hugely successful era and should be recognised as such. Now, we're into another phase and I think we're all looking forward...

Stats breakthrough that won Manly the competition

In Watmough's case the errors conceded in 2011 are lower than ever. Add that to his involvement across the board and he's one hell of a MVP. These stats are an excellent tool. I reckon.

The problem with being a newbie....

I'm one of those people David Gallop loves - you know, the fans? Manly supporter for 44 years. Mum knitted beanies, scarves and jumpers in marroon and white. And I reckon Des should leave gracefully right now. Thanks Des, you're welcome back at Brookie in any colours you like.

    Stewart Bros.Talking to Dragons???

So what happens if Peter Peters turns up on the Manly Board? Let's be realistic. Players come and players go. The vital thing is to have a balanced competition and it's the best game to watch.
