Excellent comment, and that's something I have worried about too. Just about everyone on here seems to believe that our best bench next year would be something like: 14. Utility 15. Navale 16. Bullemor 17. Hetherington This is assuming that Paseka, Taukeiaho, and Jake are starting. But it's...

IMO Jake is a lock, and a lock only. He doesn't have the running game for prop, as many on here have said. However, he still possesses a running threat, i.e. 100kg of muscle running straight at you. Jake can also pass quite effectively, and I still think his quick pass is still a valuable...

MWSE Squad Contract Status & Top 30 List

That's strange, considering his manager said he was going to test the open market at the end of this year. Lots of more recent sources seem to think he's off-contract for 2027... Which wouldn't line up with the official account. NRL Signings tracker also says he's only contracted for 2026...

    Laurie Daley

Upon reflection, I think this isn't really that important in the grand scheme of things. He hasn't got an influential role at all, by the sounds of it. However... It is interesting timing, considering that quite a few quality players are entering the open market for 2027 soon. Many of those...

Didn't see you write this, and posted the exact same thing in the finals thread 30 seconds later lol... Good thinking Batman!

    The Finals thread: (week 1)

Three future Manly players in Fogarty, Hetherington, and Blake Wilson, all named to play this week. Blake Wilson might drop out however, as Kiraz is on the Dogs' extended bench. That'll be Friday at 7:50pm for Storm vs Bulldogs, and Sunday at 4:05pm for Raiders vs Broncos, if you're only...

What exactly could be even advise on? How to lose with a star studded team? He might have something of value to add. But in an advisor role? I really don't see the benefit, whatsoever.

I don't think Staggs (the rumour at the start of this year) was anything more than a rumour. With regards to Flelger, I believe the Dolphins swooped in, and offered him $900k. Unfortunately for Flelger, we were likely better off without him, for these past two years. Hope he can return to the...

Heres a Positive - Good young players 2026

I also think another positive for next year is how well Lehi Hopoate is developing. He'll bulk up some more during the off-season, and this can only help him. With Hoppa, it's the first time in a while that I still feel confident about our fullback position when Turbo is out. I think the sheer...

I think a better idea would be letting the Bears take Brooks and Garrick for 2027. This is also a matter of salary cap. Nothing against either of these players, but this way, you're able to slowly develop Walsh into a first grader over the coming year, and you don't jeopardise his development...

    The Daly Cherrygraph

Spudd isn't exactly a Rhodes Scholar, but I thought this article was bang on from him. We finished 12-12. One or two more wins, we would've made it. That's one DCE TV appearance away from the finals.

Careful about saying anything remotely positive about Seibold on here... Cue the wolves derailing this thread! Wouldn't surprise me though. It seems to me like the players have a good personal relationship with Seibold. He seems like a likeable guy from all the personal accounts I've heard of him.

A bench of Walsh, Navale, Bullemor and Hetherington would be bloody awesome! Would have to be one of the most impactful benches in the comp. I think this is the way they're likely going too, which is excellent!!!

@Bomb Voyage Do you know why the original deal we offered to Hetherington fell through? I remember you and a few other sources talking about it several months ago. I don't mind at all the strategy of longer deals with lower per-year value. As long as it's not Saab... It's much better than the...

    Caleb Navale

Apparently he's our lucky charm, best win rate player. 5/2 W/L with Navale in the team, 7/10 without. Using some perfect logic that is completely accurate, if he plays every game next year, we should finish 17-7 in the Top 4!

That's from over a month ago. I would think it's not happening anymore, as the noise completely disappeared.

    Tommy Talau

Even if they only did it under pressure, that's still the precedent, and they should do the same here. With regards to the contract offer. I don't think pulling it after he is injured is fair, and if this came to light within the general public, I don't think it would be accepted well at all...

If he was offered a handshake deal contract, then absolutely yes. Would be incredibly scummy if take away his contract offer because he was injured in a game playing for us. The first example is to present a precedent on two things. Firstly, offering a contract, and then retracting it because...

    Tommy Talau

Doesn't have to be much, maybe a T&T or a supplementary spot. IMO the situation changed when Talau decided to leave. Also, I'm fairly certain the departing players list came before the game? Presumably that means we intended to give him another contract before the injury. Do we want to be a...

The Dragons put Volkman on the streets after they discovered he had suffered an injury at the Warriors prior to the 2024 season. They ripped up his contract, and were absolutely blasted for it. I believe they also had to pay him $40k in the end. Meanwhile, the Warriors, in similar circumstances...
