    Manly Warringah history question.

Well Manky Oval looks in spectacular condition on the Manly cricket club website, but unfortunately it looks like their season is still going on at this time of year. https://manlycricket.com/

    Manly Warringah history question.

The song sounds like sea gulls to me. The world wasn't full of people whining about everything. Watch games from the 1970s and no one is blowing up about terrible play the balls and not every dropped ball is a knock on. Let alone scrum penalties.

    Manly Warringah history question.

On April 26th 1948 edition of Rugby League News (became Big League). "The club has adopted the Red-Backed Sea Eagle as the design for their club emblem. It is hoped to have badges available for club supporters shortly." https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-636102319/view?partId=nla.obj-636109889# The...

    Manly Warringah history question.

(Manly Daily / May 02, 2014): ARKO SAID MANLY WERE NEVER THE SEAGULLS "I would like a dollar for every person over the years who has asked me when Manly changed its emblem from the Seagulls to Sea Eagles. Fact is Manly have been the Sea Eagles since the club first competed in the then NSW...
  8. Once Was Brissie Kid

    Manly Warringah history question.

I wonder if Manly Oval is up to NRL training standards anyway.
  9. Once Was Brissie Kid

    Manly Warringah history question.

Well it seems it is true that Manly Sea Eagles have never played in Manly, except for a picnic cricket match on Manly Oval about 15 years ago. The news stories below show Manly Sea Eagles officials trying really hard in the first few years of the club to get some games at Manly Oval. Surely it...

[Resurrected] Manly Jerseys what is your fave

Manly also wore a white jersey and white socks retro late 1970s strip vs Eels in Round 10 of 2009. Used a jersey number square on the back of the jersey too. https://www.gettyimages.com.au/editorial-images/sport/event/rd-10-sea-eagles-v-eels/85743359

    Honouring contracts ..

If they bring in rules it will just be giving the ARU and French and Japanese rugby a free kick to negotiate without any competition from the NRL clubs. That's how ARU got Sailor and Tuquiri 20 years ago when NRL had rules banning other NRL clubs from negotiating. But there's NRL clubs who'd...

Yes a good throwback in cotton. I'd like to see the white alternate too, used mainly in 1995.

one area Manly must improve in 2025

Being able to stop opposition momentum. Among many examples, there's still too many times the team gives up 3 tries in 20 minutes. Being the better team for 65 minutes means jack in NRL.

These Black and white rules are still grey

100%. Trying to make it more black and white, as the NRL have been doing, will just cause the same mess as the past 10 years. I don't know how much more black and white or simpler that could be. If it is a deliberate head high tackle, send the tackler off. If it was careless, penalise them...
  18. Once Was Brissie Kid

These Black and white rules are still grey

Exactly. Even without any blow to a player's head, and without wishing to disparage anyone, any HIA done of any NRL player or even the referee at the 70th minute of a NRL could end up not passing the HIA due to consequences of fatigue.
