All NRL Games [Round 18, 2025]

Pass was touched by the broncos, but the fox commentators missed it

    2026 recruitment & retention

I was thinking the same watching it, he was energetic and impactful. If we do land him that's a great acquisition.

All NRL Games [Round 18, 2025]

Curran was awful tonight, Galvin overplayed his hand way too many times. But the big weakness of the Dogs is their high energy play style, if they can't put a team to the sword early they run the risk of being run down. It's how we beat them in the finals last year and the Broncos showed it...

    The Daly Cherrygraph

I hope he gets a nice juicy deal from them, it would be nice to see him sandbagging some other side's cap for a change

    2026 recruitment & retention

Agree with all of that. I am hopeful that Simpkin and Zaidas will see us through to Ashton Large's debut. Once he is in First Grade I don't think we will be all that upset about missing out on TDS. Parra will probably be glad they have him in 2 years time but are probably overpaying a little...

    2026 recruitment & retention

I like the idea but I think Taukeiaho is already filling that role for us. Better to spend the money on younger players. With the DCE / Fogarty swap and a pending downgrade of the Trbojevic contracts we are well placed to do some recruiting. Need to be smart about it.

    Fullbacks missed games

Tom's issue is loss of confidence because a lot of those injuries were hamstrings caused by his running style.

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I think Ballin would tick most if not all of the boxes, and Siebold transferring to ahead of operations role would actually make better use of his strengths. Ennis is the big wildcard in all that, though.

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

One thing I have appreciated about Siebold is that the squad has gotten stronger every year since he arrived. He has tried to cut dead wood and add value where he can. Looks like next year could be our best yet in that regard.

    NRLW no 6 agains

Yeah I have to say it's refreshing, like watching pre-2006 rugby league.

    Moses to Manly!

Maybe Lodge was one of the only guys who was actually putting in at training. Most of the squad were white anting him from day dot.

    Moses to Manly!

The aggression in this response is wildly out of proportion to what was said.

    Burbo

I think Burbo has been one of our best this season, except when defending out of position in the centres. But I agree he is very much a first grader now and he hasn't hit his ceiling yet. Incidentally - one thing I am noticing more and more, from things like the above photo but also his...

    Onitoni Large injured

I hope he proves himself ready for NRL next year. There's a decent chance that before season's end both Walsh and Large will be ready to become regular first graders. If that happens I'd imagine Brooks will get moved on, possibly Fogarty too. Perth Bears would probably happily snap up one or...

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

A significant proportion of posters have him on ignore anyway.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Jack Hetherington is dead set the most moronic NRL player in recent memory. I wouldn't want him in the same postcode as a Manly jersey.

    Michael Ennis

Ah well those would be the best times for motivational speeches

Why I Think Manly Will Never Compete Long-Term Again

I've been avoiding replying to this thread because I'm waiting for it to drop off the front page, because it's just depressing. But in reality we have only won about one premiership per decade, I still think that is a real possibility before the 2020's are over, and am actually quite encouraged...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Yeah but sometimes their reasons for letting players go are because it's a bad cultural fit. Like Terrell May - he has been killing it but they were very quick to push him out.

    Michael Ennis

I don't think he actually spends that much time at the club right now.
