    Glenn Stewart Injury

I'm not sure how accurate this is , but according to the NRL Injury Update today on the Tom Waterhouse blog , Glenn Stewart could miss up to 6 weeks with his eye injury. I suspect this is a hypothetical worst case scenario. Has anyone heard anything definite about the injury ?

    Cowboys v Manly [Round 18 2013] Discussion

Jason Taumalolo could be anything under a decent coach. He seems to be offside with Neil Henry. I hope he doesn't decide to make a point to the coach next Monday. He can be an absolute wrecking ball in attack and his defence is not as bad as it's made out to be. Having said that , I don't see...

    Hiku in as number 7

Could be a smokescreen to take the pressure off Chisholm before he gets named a few hours before the match. Rose might drop off the bench (metaphorically speaking) due to injury with Hiku to the bench as a backline utility for insurance.

Manly v Parramatta [Round 17 2013] Game day thread

I doubt they'd move the premier NRL centre to 6. He hasn't looked nearly as comfortable at 6 in the past , but I suppose you never know.

Manly v Parramatta [Round 17 2013] Game day thread

Who will be halfback next week with DCE on SOO duty ? Foran to 7 with Gift to 6 , or maybe Chisholm gets a chance at 7 ? No jokes about Kite to 7 are allowed.

Manly v Parramatta [Round 17 2013] Game day thread

According to Toovey : Fractured thumb for Tom Symonds (4 to 6 weeks) , provisional diagnosis sprained ankle for Rose pending scans (best case scenario 1 to 2 weeks), scratched cornea for G Stewart (possibly right for next week as long as no other internal eye damage).

    Brett Stewart

He referred to his "dodgy hamstring" during this interview. He tore his hamstring in July last year against Parramatta at Brookvale and he's been limping noticeably in backplay during most matches this year. Hopefully the hamstring problem has not become chronic . Toovey has always been...

    Manly v Roosters [Round 16 2013] Discussion

RE: Manly v Roosters I've never seen a team get such quick play the balls against the Bulldogs as the Roosters did last Friday. The Bulldogs normally slow the ruck down more than any other team including Melbourne in my opinion. This is why Hasler is always complaining about high total penalty...

    2013 Rumoured and confirmed signings.

He looked a bit cumbersome and did get manhandled by Ben Roberts. His hit-ups did improve later in the match so it's probably hard to write him off on that performance . Manly did well to release Darcy Lussick who is a plodder with poor discipline .

    Reynolds dive

In round 10 against Newcastle Reynolds tried to blatantly trip Kevin Naiqama when Naiqama scored Newcastle's last try (Naiqama stepped off his right foot and as Reynolds was falling he stuck out his left foot in a very dangerous manner to try to trip him) . Then Reynolds stayed on the ground...

MANLY v BULLDOGS Game Day Thread

In the lead up to the Pritchard try Lawrence got penalised for allegedly bringing his forearm into contact with Jackson's head when Jackson was lying on the ground. It was on the blind side of the camera , but it looked like he was just leaning on his head. Manly also got penalised for inside...

MANLY v BULLDOGS Game Day Thread

Barba did indeed push Foran when he was contesting the bomb...when they were showing the replay I thought it would be disallowed. The only trouble was that Matai collided with Foran at the same time so there was an excuse for the video referees to rule a try. On another note Jorge Taufua...

MANLY v BULLDOGS Game Day Thread

Seriously , Henry Perenara and Ashley Klein must have been watching grainy black and white replays of the Reynolds 'try' on a 25 year old TV with a cracked screen wearing non prescription glasses found in the lost property bin at the back of the grandstand, the lenses of which had been painted...

MANLY v BULLDOGS Game Day Thread

He played tighter and more direct today than in any appearance this year but when he drifted wide unfortunately he appeared cumbersome. Manly looked much better earlier in the year with Symonds running off short passes on the right edge and Horo positioned on the left. Apart from Buhrer's...

MANLY v BULLDOGS Game Day Thread

I disagree...he gave Hayne the chance to decide the match by grabbing a player's leg (whose momentum had already been stopped by Ballin) then lifting it unnecessarily . This was a total lack of discipline from a senior player who should know better .

MANLY v BULLDOGS Game Day Thread

Absolutely mind boggling action by Glenn Stewart to give Reynolds a chance to dive. Insane decision to give Reynolds a try as the ball was still short of the line when picked up by Manly after rolling forward. Video refs will be sacked after that decision. Tom Symonds should have had a lot more...

    Tamou in Trouble

Tamou was released by the Roosters due to off-field issues , otherwise they would have had a formidable pack.

The Good the bad and the ugly round 13 2013

Congratulations to CF2 for a good honest assessment of DCE/Foran/Buhrer/G.Stewart. I think Buhrer should be shopped around to free up some salary cap space (not sure if Ricky Stuart or Bozo was behind his State Of Origin selection but it no doubt activated a contract clause leading to a pay...

    Dogs next week

He might be standing in the defensive line sleep deprived since his baby was born last week. It'll be interesting to see how he plays .
