    I think it's reasonable that Manly would not have thought he'd be going as strong at 37 years of age and be paying 1M, and would also need to balance and upgrade players meanwhile.     I haven't come up with my preferred option for #7 in 2026. Maybe we need a no frills type halfback who can tackle, kick and drive the team around the park. We will miss what cherry can bring, but the new number 7 just needs to point the team around the field and give the ball to our fast backs...

    You missed the bit about wanting a release in 2024, and going on TV to announce there is no problem with him and the club, but he is leaving and may play for any club but manly, and that manly never offered a contract, without saying he told the club he may retire or go to english SL instead...

    Also against Cowboys, they came flying home with late 3 or 4 tries as manly fell apart, to be within striking distance. DCE is in space with tackles up our sleeve with less than a minute to go, and he puts grubber through some 30-40m away from the tryline and gives the cowboys one more shot...
