If you could add one player to our roster . . .

Harry Grant ( plus a fully fit Turbo) will do.

    Pre-Game Chooks V Manly [Finals Week 2, 2024]

I know it's the NRL so common sense is in short supply but....why can't they have the same ref in the Bunker for both games? Only two games on different nights.

    Lodge, you Monster

Seriously? You're comparing Lodge & Foran? Lodge averages 12 games a year over his time. Foran 20. I don't think Foran has made any mid season switches yet Lodge has had four. Foran might have gone for the $$ over the years and the GC deal for a longer term but to compare the two is...

    Lodge, you Monster

That's kind of what l was getting at. His previous three contracts have ended abruptly so has he thrown his toys out of the cot and/or the clubs when it's come to contract time? Is it just all about the $$? Yes, I know they are professionals but...surely there comes a time when you look at your...

    Lodge, you Monster

Interesting terminology there from Lodge. Thought he'd stay at the Broncs but "business things" prevented that. He was inch away from a three year deal at the Chooks but just a "business transaction" ended that. So wonder what these business things were? Especially to end both tenures abruptly.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Makes you wonder if he should've stayed in Melbourne or if they were prepared to let him go after his COVID shenanigans despite at the time being the best winger in the game.

    Lodge, you Monster

We're not "letting him go". His contract is up, he obviously wants a longer and/or better deal. I think he's on base $$ and has played 11 games since he got here and had two long term injuries. I'd say we've offered him something and he wants more. How much do you think he's worth? And for how...

    RCG

Maybe, but the key to selling things is to sell when they're still worth something. Who knows what he's worth in a years time? Both parties are trying to leverage here, the player wants security of a few more years and Parra can save $$ to spend elsewhere now.

2024 FINALS: [All Games: Week 1]

He pulled the handbrake on with the forward pass call, would've made it 24-16 and game on. Ridiculous call.

    2026 recruitment & retention

Hindsight is a great thing. I always thought Garner had a bit of Beaver about him when U20's for us (not saying he's that good, just his build and style) His road seemed blocked here and we know Des' history of not debuting youngsters so off to the Tigers he went and obviously showed enough to...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Yeah but reportedly he wants a three year deal. Why would he take 500k for three years when he could take 750k for 2?

    2026 recruitment & retention

Will be interesting, he's not staying at Parra, burnt the Dragons, the Broncos pulled the pin. Is his sticking point length of contract ( 3 years) or price tag? Something has to give somewhere soon.

    Lodge, you Monster

Thing is though, it seems Lodge doesn't want to back himself on another short term deal and that's the sticking point. He's not exactly in the position of power in that regard. Return on investment between RCG and Lodge is like chalk and cheese. Lodge may have more upside going forward...but...

    2026 recruitment & retention

I was think about RCG. He's been granted a release from Parra without a club locked in. I think he's got plenty to offer but the sticking point at his age is him wanting three years. He's averaging over 20 games a year so he's durable and doesn't seem to get into too much trouble. Worth a shot...

Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

Interesting spin that Annesley puts on things. It could be argued that Cogger instigated contact and in doing so checked or slowed Lemuelu in getting through the line. You could call that ....a mitigating factor. So, why is that mitigating factor not taken into account but as we've heard over...

Summation of Manly's home and away season 2024

So this seems to be a common thread. On one hand the games like the Raiders and Tigers have cost us finishing 4th or 5th. On the other we're nowhere near a Top 4 side. Would winning those 2-3 games be a true indicator (and everyone be happy) or not? Whether we beat the Big 3 on off day or...

    Lodge, you Monster

If he's not in the last chance saloon, he's looking at it. In 10 years with 5 clubs* he's only played more than 12 games in a season...twice! So he doesn't have many miles on the clock but there's a few gremlins under the bonnet. *NRL only plus 2 more in u20's (Panthers and Storm) Yep...

    That's entertainment Folks!

An interesting take on that. Giving away a 6 again on the first tackle isn't as bad as conceding one on the last tackle so you may be onto something. How many times do we see back to back 6 agains on zero or first tackle which isn't really a deterrent or punishment to the defending side?
