Seriously? You're comparing Lodge & Foran? Lodge averages 12 games a year over his time. Foran 20. I don't think Foran has made any mid season switches yet Lodge has had four. Foran might have gone for the $$ over the years and the GC deal for a longer term but to compare the two is...- StuBoot

Interesting terminology there from Lodge. Thought he'd stay at the Broncs but "business things" prevented that. He was inch away from a three year deal at the Chooks but just a "business transaction" ended that. So wonder what these business things were? Especially to end both tenures abruptly.- StuBoot

Maybe, but the key to selling things is to sell when they're still worth something. Who knows what he's worth in a years time? Both parties are trying to leverage here, the player wants security of a few more years and Parra can save $$ to spend elsewhere now.- StuBoot

Thing is though, it seems Lodge doesn't want to back himself on another short term deal and that's the sticking point. He's not exactly in the position of power in that regard. Return on investment between RCG and Lodge is like chalk and cheese. Lodge may have more upside going forward...but...- StuBoot

I was think about RCG. He's been granted a release from Parra without a club locked in. I think he's got plenty to offer but the sticking point at his age is him wanting three years. He's averaging over 20 games a year so he's durable and doesn't seem to get into too much trouble. Worth a shot...- StuBoot

Summation of Manly's home and away season 2024
So this seems to be a common thread. On one hand the games like the Raiders and Tigers have cost us finishing 4th or 5th. On the other we're nowhere near a Top 4 side. Would winning those 2-3 games be a true indicator (and everyone be happy) or not? Whether we beat the Big 3 on off day or...- StuBoot

If he's not in the last chance saloon, he's looking at it. In 10 years with 5 clubs* he's only played more than 12 games in a season...twice! So he doesn't have many miles on the clock but there's a few gremlins under the bonnet. *NRL only plus 2 more in u20's (Panthers and Storm) Yep...- StuBoot

An interesting take on that. Giving away a 6 again on the first tackle isn't as bad as conceding one on the last tackle so you may be onto something. How many times do we see back to back 6 agains on zero or first tackle which isn't really a deterrent or punishment to the defending side?- StuBoot
