    In memorium

Thanks all for the kind condolences and the views. Great to be able to remember an important part of my dad's life with people who understand the connection to the mighty Eagles.

    In memorium

Thought this was an appropriate time and place to record the passing of a long term Eagles supporter. My father died Feb 4 this year after a long life, making it to 93. He became a Sea Eagles fan having moved into the area when he bought one of the defence service-built homes in the 1960s...

NRL 2016 ladder countdown: Manly Sea Eagles (5th)

Well written. I'm one hoping Lussick is growing up a bit and will cut the bull**** from his game and fulfil his potential.

    Snake to Dragons possibly 2017

Thanks for that Shoe1. The great Wombat. I'm with the others who said Snake is still a major part of our team in attack and defence, and is going to be needed this year with the new lineup. Sorry he won't be there Friday as the plan to have DCE wandering about in attack will work better with...

    Matty Johns Manly preview

Time to gel and develop good defense defo needed. Having more play-making out of dummy half will change the dynamic in attack, but also Johns forgets how much work B Stewart does in playmaking and assists these days. He might shuffle in and do a bit more with Dylan Walker going outside him sometimes

    Reasons to be cheerful

We beat the storm-in-a-teacup twice. We beat the sharks twice and ruined their finals campaign. We thrashed the broncos and the rabbitohs and got some revenge. 'No spoon for us' record intact. Any more?

Matthew Johns: Geoff Toovey has taken all kinds of punishment for Manly and deserves respect

As Arko said 'toughest player to ever pull on a boot' . Another harragon moment was when we played canberra down there in the mid-90s and big mal lined up toovs to make a speed bump of him and ended up on his back 10 metres toward his own tryline. Beautiful.

    Gee what a shock

Fair enough Fluffy; but an average of 150-160k might not be for 10 yrs-- Anyone have a stat on the average first grade career? I'd guess it's more like 5 years. A cursory google search has some claiming it's as short as around 40 games or 3-4 seasons. At the end of it you could find yourself in...

    Gee what a shock

Garts said it better than me here -- I can't blame a prof footballer taking the biggest pay cheque he can get (and when you think of the money the nrl, the merchandisers, and the media etc are making off their broken bodies I think they deserve alot more compared to golfers, tennis players...

    Gee what a shock

2 things: 1 It's time the NRL has something like the transfer windows in the EPL. I just can't blame players for getting into negotiations with people offering them serious dough -- they have 10 yrs to make a lifetime's wages. The NRL should constrain clubs and agents etc to off-season and...

Sea Eagles to transform Brookvale Oval

Judging from CEO Dave Smith's comments on stadia they want about 4 of this size for all the sydney teams, so a single team stadium is going to be difficult to get approved.

    Better call Saul

Is good; not as big a budget by the look of it but just as good a script and great to see mike and saul and even tuco again..

Manly Sea Eagles legends tell Anthony Watmough to stop disrespecting his old club

Igor has spoken; and showed the way himself when the club ditched his son. Suck it up (in public) is the manly thing to do in all senses.

WORST POSSIBLE Grand Final! Who Are you Going For and Why?

My mum was a rabbits fan, my dad went for the eagles once we moved into the area in mid-60s. First GF we all went together to: 1970. So its rabbits for mine (or my mum will haunt me); and I'll think they'll win easy unless they get the chokes again. The 70s rivalry was pretty ferocious...

    Our season

With you SER8. The late run of injuries, suspensions told more than anything. From what I've seen hodges did fantastically but you can't replace the workload and cohesion Ballin gives up the middle and not be diminished. Overachieved yes; esp in the front row department. We really need to...
