MVP: Most Valuable player for [Round 7: Sea Eagles v Raiders 2019]

    3. Fainu 2. Waddell 1. Marty Honestly, I thought Croker, Turbo, Elliot, Sirro, Suli and Jorge were all amazing as well. A real team win!

Game Day: Manly v Raiders [Round 7, 2019]

WOW! Just superb. The fellas really proved that they are not a one, two or even three man team today. No Turbo, no AFB, no DCE, NO WORRIES. That was a superb win and one that will really galvanise this group. Outstanding leadership by JT and Marty when we needed it. A real team win.

Game Day: Manly v Raiders [Round 7, 2019]

I hope you’re right! I think Elgey offers a lot more in attack, and has been defensively solid. Meanwhile Croker hasn’t played first grade in 12 months. If Elgey was injured I would have much rather seen Api go to 5/8 and Manase play 80

Salary cap management. Have a crack.

I don't think Walker or Suli will be here next year, and looks like Thommo will be going to the UK. Given our forward pack depth, I think this will make room for one or two substantial backline signings. On the estimates there, that's already well over $1M, so that might leave room for Gutho and...

Last play of the match vs Dragons

Update - the NRL has admitted that the referee made the incorrect decision: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/sea-eagles/nrl-admits-referee-got-it-wrong-in-stunning-manly-escort-robbery/news-story/0a2586763d350de2fa96575d9baa49df Thanks NRL, that makes everything better!

MVP: Most Valuable player for [Round 6: Dragons v Sea Eagles 2019]

I thought Parker had the best game of his career, and Elgey really took a lot of the 5th tackle pressure off of DCE.

Game Day: Dragons v Manly [Round 6, 2019]

Respectfully, I disagree. It was a tough, gritty game. Against the Knights and the Warriors we had very good attacking games. But this was a very different game. The playmakers earned their teams lots of repeat sets, and both teams were brilliant on their goal lines. The only real defensive...

Game Day: Dragons v Manly [Round 6, 2019]

I think the fact we only conceded two tries, and from kicks, shows how far our defence has come. Under TB the Dragons would have put on a cricket score with the amount of repeat sets they had.

Game Day: Dragons v Manly [Round 6, 2019]

Should have been a penalty at the end. Also I don’t see how a ref can stop play after a tackle is made and go back to the bunker and check a try. A couple of poor calls really cost us there. In saying that we had to be better defending that last kick. The Dragons should not have been able to...

    PRE-GAME DISCUSSION: Dragons v Manly [Round 6, 2019]

I'm still not sold on Manly's finals credentials this year. But this is the kind of game that if they win, we'll all know they're the real deal. I still think squad depth and injuries/suspensions to key players is really going to hurt the team. In saying that the Dragons' three wins have come...

    JDB Federal Court Challenge

It just keeps getting better! When Greenburg took the stand today, he admitted that there was no evidence before the NRL that the policy would deter off field incidents...

    JDB Federal Court Challenge

I think that's what's been plead by JDB's counsel so far. I imagine his team are arguing multiple grounds for why the policy is invalid. I think there is also a real issue with the possibility of interfering with the right to fair trial of these players. It will be very hard to empanel a jury...

    JDB Federal Court Challenge

It looks like the NRL have taken a bit of a hit today in Court: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/nrl-boss-to-take-stand-in-de-belins-nofault-stand-down-trial/news-story/3d8394f8bb229e9118aa011bf1b624bf One of things they were relying on to justify the introduction of their...

Walker Poll - If DeBellin wins next week.

I think the case is supposed to be heard over three days, starting from today. I'm not sure how long it will take the judge to make a decision though. I was surprised that JDB's legal team didn't seek an injunction on the no fault policy so that he could keep playing while the legality of the...

    Elgey Improving

He's definitely on the up - I think his running and passing has gotten a lot more confident, and his defence has been really great. I still think his kicking has a fair way to go. He needs to take some of that pressure off of DCE.
