Coaching staff to blame more than the players

Toovey has been brilliant in: 1. Resigning the whole of the best spine in the NRL despite the uncertainty of both Des and the board. No strong spine no finals. 2. identifying and choosing Taufua over Oldfield and Whare. At the time he did it I would have chosen Whare. But Toovey was right. 3...

    Your top 3 Manly players.

Lyon. Brett. Ballin. Most improved (maybe only improved) is Taufua

    Oldfield v Whare

    Agreed

    Storm YART

After last night Oldfield deserves the wing spot above Whare. Whare is a better centre than winger.

    Killer = IN

Great. I hear he doesn't play if he will let the side down. So kill em killer.

Liam is in if Lyon is out

    No Lyon, no premeirship

Not sure how we would cope with no Lyon and Matai. Whare to left centre. Oldfield to right wing. Who though to right centre? I think Ferris is a liability there. And we miss him around the ruck.

    Player Statistics

Does anyone know how player statistics are actually calculated? For example: What does it mean if someone makes 30 tackles per game. If they are the third man in and hardly contribute, is it still included in their tally? How are metres calculated - is there a GPS in the ball and on the...

    I'm renewing for sure.

Are Manly the best at not screwing up line breaks

I've noticed that a lot of teams seem to regularly screw up a line break. They either drop the ball as they get tackled or try an impossible pass that doesn't come off. I reckon it's around 50% of the time. But Manly seems to be trained to hold onto the ball, take the tackle and then invariably...

    Buhrer

Buhrer is going to be a great Hooker, but needs more first grade experience playing in that position to reach his potential. I think that's what Toovey is trying to give him, so that we won't lose much if Ballin's out. At the moment he usually passes well, and runs from dummy half well. But only...

Who will be our 2013 Right Wing

Yes. The spine is sorted and rest of starting 13 I think are pretty set.

Sea Eagles Pillage - The Washup

I also think the priority they signed them said a lot. The two most important for the long term future of the club were DCE and Foran and they got them first. Well done.

Who will be our 2013 Right Wing

We need more depth in the backs. I see Farrar's strength as a good flexible backup but not a first choice winger

Tigers have just been installed as 2013 pre season favourites

Sheens made two big mistakes this year. Gave up two great forwards Gibbs and Fifita for Blair. Plus played Moltzen out of position. Easy in hindsight but really paid the cost.

Who will be our 2013 Right Wing

With Oldfield and Whare going and Wolfman injured, anyone know who we will have playing right wing next year? Not sure who we could buy / afford. Can't see Farrar being first choice.

    Rose, Mauro and Lussick

I rate Mauro above both Rose and Lussick. Very rare for him to miss a tackle or give away a penalty.

Stats told a story of a bigger win than the scoreboard told (GC vs Manly)

Our defense was great - pity we brought the need for it onto ourselves.

    Manly vs Dogs

Great result to play the Dogs rather than Storm. Sydney game is a big plus even though we have been travelling well. Plus we know what to expect from the Dogs.

    Josh Drinkwater

Is Liam signed up for 2013? I thought he was still off contract. As this year has shown, having a good replacement half in the squad is essential, so we should make it a priority to have either Liam or Josh signed up.
