    New walkout rocks Eagles

I hope they are getting off their arses and talking to Foran and DCE's management. We are just going to have to make these two offers they can't refuse. Unfortunately this will mean we will have to start making some hard decisions regarding older player.

    Manly-Bankstown Sea Dogs

You can keep him too. No one is bigger than the club. I'm sure you will have success with Hasler and Cleal, but wait until you win a premiership with them before you get to cocky.

    Des is awesome

From my persepective, keeping in my I have no idea what has gone on behind the scenes, I find the both of them turning their back on the club and going to the bloody bulldogs unforgivable. I know our back office is no doubt the cause of this, however these two have had such a long association...

Merged Thread: Noel 'Crusher' Cleal, follows Des Hasler to the Bulldogs

RE: Noel Cleal to the Bulldogs What in the f**k has happened to this club. I can't believe everything has imploded again after winning a premiership...

    Dave Warwick

There is an article on the Manly Daily website about it. From his quotes, it sounds like he left for the opportunity to work more with NRL players, as opposed to blindly following Hasler. Hasler being there (and no doubt helping him get the job) was just an added bonus for him.

    Mortimer the Rooter

You never know, he may come good with a change of scenery. I hope he does go well and really rubs the slime's face in it.

Vic Mauro signs new 2 year contract extension

All these re-signings are great, I just don't understand why we have left all this so late in the year.

Jason Ryles - would he fit into Manly?

We wouldn't have the cap space, and we definately don't need to make the space for him.

Most memorable Manly game in your lifetime

Round 10, 1995 - Manly vs Canberra. Both sides came into the game undefeated and we won 16-8 and Hoppa scored a hat trick. We were also down to 11 men at the end when 2 were put in the sin bin. I was a young bloke listening to the game in the car with my dad.[hr] Got in before me, I didn't...

    Stewart Bros.Talking to Dragons???

Isn't Glenn signed up until the end of 2014 anyway. I've never heard that he has a get out clause.

    Extraordinary General Meeting of MWDRLFC

Add me to that!! We should fight as hard as possible for Brookie, but at the end of the day Manly away from Brookie is better than no Manly at all.

Manly Sea Eagles Chairman Scott Penn has made a bid to wrest sole control of the club

For starters, I can't see the football club ever being in a good enough position to buy back the club. Also, I can't see a problem with Penn being majority owner for the long term. He loves Manly, and is willing to back the club with his finances. As long as he doesn't move the club or change...

Has Parra and the Dogs over committed ?

I haven't paid much attention to it, so my knowledge of the details is thin, but it will be interesting to see what happens with the proposed pokie laws. By the sounds of it, if they are passed it could significantly hurt those clubs that rely heavily on their League's Clubs.

Has Parra and the Dogs over committed ?

Parra maybe, but the dogs no. The dogs spent big on Des, but there is no salary cap on coaches plus they have a rich Leagues Club that is footing the bill. Parra may be different though. Although I have no doubt they can afford Hoppa, he must fit under the cap. If the cap doesn't rise...

Zorba - Manly will remain a force

I agree with this, there is a lot of water to pass under the bridge before we see Hoppa in a Parramatta jersey. Obviously I would have wanted him to commit to Manly, but as Zorba says, you never know anything could happen in 2 years. As for the timing of the announcment, Zorba is right again...

Brookie's only hope a federal handout

Very true. But it would be interesting to know if we had actually been proactive in seeking funding during that period. Did we even go to the government and ask? Did we have upgrade proposals ready to show what we would do with the money? Unfortunately we're a safe seat, we have to earn our...
