    It's a couple of things: 1) transport to and from the games is easier in Melbourne due to the placement of the grounds. 2) the way the games are played. Rugby League is better to watch on TV. AFL is better at the ground as you can see what is happening in the back play. 3) Mentality...

    In AFL, a team is hated for being a bunch of bogans, not for their success. The NRL is full of tall poppy syndrome cases. If we hated teams and their supporters the way that the AFL fans do, Manly would be the pride of the league and Souths would be Collingwood.
