    The only reason I can see any of it making sense is if we have a plan for 2027 (Humphreys return) and a 2 year extension for cherry would get in the way unless we needed to outbid another offer to keep him a one clubber.

    He's going to make a circus for his last big contract. There's no other reason to go on national TV and talk in circles. I guess not having to negotiate a contract for a decade makes you act like a tit and leave your club legacy with a sour taste.

    I’d certainly hope Daly communicated this all with the club before watching the handful of prospective replacements depart the club over the last couple of years. It wouldn’t surprise me though, cherry does seem like it’s number one first and everyone else a very distant second thought.
