    Could we see Hastings in the centres this year?

    Ok i'll ask another question. Who would you rather see in the centres.. Hastings or Jono Wright? I'll take the former please. I just think he could handle the role the way Bird has. Big unit, can catch, can pass, can kick and can read the play! Over qualified perhaps?

    Am i crazy for thinking that Hastings could be a decent center in 2017? Very similar to Jack Bird in size and speed etc. 6ft 1 and 95kgs. Doubt it will happen and not sure it could work but surely has to be considered. I think if we are going to make the 8 we will need to take a few risks...

    I'd play Jono over Matthew any day. Matthew Right is average. Strong but too slow. At least Jono has a bit of speed and can find the line. But the Wrights and Brown aren't in my starting 17. They weren't even considered to be honest.

    Glad we didn't get him. Perrett and Meehan should be more dynamic next year anyway. Myles, Taupau, Lawrence, Jake, Meehan, Lane, Lussick, AFB and Perrett will get the job done. Plenty of size, mongrel, go forward and hopefully enough brains to match.

    I'm not sure. Would prefer we start with Lussick and Taupau in the front row. I don't think you can have Jake and Taupau starting in the back row as they both play more like prop imo.

    Good thread. That second center spot will be the last piece of the jigsaw. For mine: Turbo Uate Kelly Walker Taufua DCE Green Only other mystery is who will start in the back row along Jake and Sironen!

    I was a bit concerned with some Jake interviews etc how nervous he looked. Whilst he will be a natural leader and let his play do the talking i think the modern captains needs to let his play do the talking and be able to use his words and personality wisely both on and off the field.

    I think DCE rubs some people up the wrong way. Not sure a prickly captain is the way to go. I may be wrong but think he could be too divisive. But I've been wrong on more than one occasion! ;)

    Good read and tend to agree. We are due for a few players to have break out seasons. I'm counting on Perret, Hastings, Kelly and Lane. ;) Although not sure how you forgot about Lussick. He is our starting prop, leader and a chance for captain next year.
