    He was in fact the only Manly player not to miss a tackle all game. 20 tackles, 0 misses, 0 ineffective. His 158 running metres was also the 2nd best for Manly behind only Haumole.

    And the actual half we had on the field that night, did nothing at all. He literally just stuck to the left side of the field. Whether he was under instructions or not I do not know. But that night, Brooks had the chance to show his wares and TBH, he didn't.

    Sorry to go off topic for a moment, but I honestly think we robbed ourselves in that 2013 GF. We led 18-8 with 25 to go, then our defence just fell apart. Regardless of the forward pass at the end of it, we literally let James Maloney stride 30 metres downfield without a hand being laid on him...

    If the club rated Humphreys as a halfback, they wouldn't have been trying to turn him into a hooker / dummy half. Especially, regardless of anything that's going on now, knowing DCE's age and that he wouldn't be forever.
