    There was a game of football at Manly Oval (fairly social, no hard tackling) between a Manly Boys High team and Old Boys around 1958 or 59 and REX played in that game.     In the early 60's we use to turn up for the main game (after playing) and they used to let us in for free as Junior players. (the gate next to the entrance opposite St Augustines). I also used to take my girlfriend in this way too as "a junior players girlfriend". ;)

    Went to school with old school Manly players

    Len Diett was a PE teacher at MBH when I was there. Think he used to walk (or run) from Manly Wharf to school at Brookie every day. Edit: Might of oopsed, thoughy he played for Manly at one time but appears to be not so according to RL Project.

    Definetly. I agree, I blew up as soon as I saw it at normal speed and replayed it a few times afterward. I also thought that they would kick like just like they did and we should have had someone (Tom) at the back to be ready for it. Still happy for the great win though. :cool:🦅

    Don't disagree but I though the jumper is a 50's replica not the original 1947. I think they did have a striped jersey in some games in the 50's. As for your points re logos sponsers etc. I agree and the "jumpers" were all long sleeved (except the Moose's) which would not be as good for sales.
