    Manase Fainu

Wait goes on for Fainu and Manly Nearly two years after he was first charged over the stabbing of a man outside a church dance, forgotten Manly hooker Manase Fainu was scheduled to go to trial next week. Fainu has been stood down since the start of the 2020 season under the game’s no-fault...

Didn’t mean to post anything, but it was informative and I am now optimistic.

    Shaun "Exit" Lane mega thread.

It will be massively demotivating to any of the three to lose their spot after playing so well, and doing all that Barrett has asked of them. I say Lussick has to wait for an injury or poor form or play so well in Blacktown that he demands the spot including not giving away penalties.

    Lawrence

I can understand this call. At his age and with his injury history another injury is too likely. Too big a risk to offer him what he's worth healthy.

    Kapow stats.

Winterstein had been averaging 1.3 missed tackles per game. Taupau this year is 4.0, even with the reduced minutes. Plus Winterstein seems to be sliding better and assisting those beside him to avoid them being run around.

    Api /Hastings or Both

If one of them wasn't in the side last night who would we realistically have brought in? If Lussick, Perrett and Bainbridge are injured our next in line is Lane. I believe his defense would have lost us the game.

    Blacktown v NZW live

I watched the fringe forwards closely and agreed with most of the comments above. Lane: Very poor hands. I counted four dropped balls. Some were from poor passes but really should have got them all. Arm grabbing poor defence Couldn't handle a tackle on line and gave up a try Held on too long...

    Blake Green Signs

I watched Lane closely on Sunday before first grade. His defense was way off what we saw the first grade guys do. It's my first time having a good look at him but he didn't seem to slide at all in the first try we let in. And in another try that the dogs dropped he hadn't got up and back into...

    Recruitment for Next Year

Manly's best forwards - Jamie Buhrer and Jake T

Agreed. We just need to be careful with players so injury prone. Eats up too much cap and knocks combinations around too much when they are out as long as he's been.

How bad a loss was that?

We are doing ok considering the new combinations and the challenge in developing them with all the injuries and five day turnarounds. Good news over the last few weeks in how Vave and AFB are coming through. Very promising and I believe we have a much improved set of forwards over last year and...

Game Day: Manly v Knights [Round 8, 2016]

This is one of the best benches I've seen for a while. We must be able to get into the scoring zone with it.

    Player swap

Amazingly after last year, it seems that we have plenty of forward depth. I'd love to see a player swap for a winger. Can you think of any quality or promising wingers that seem unwanted by clubs that could do with another forward? From what Ive heard on this forum the club could be willing to...

I think we re a few years off

It's so dependent on injuries and the bounce of the ball but I think we will be genuine contenders this year. I see a team that's starting to gel well. We have genuine depth in our forwards. They are defending well and improving defence each week. Our forwards can get us down there. If we had...

Game Day: Manly v Wests Tigers [Round 2, 2016]

I love the real competition for spots. Give it a few weeks of working this out and then getting some combinations going and we will be up there.

All teams with lots of recruits lost

It's not just us. Warriors, Eels and Roosters lost too. It seems that having so many new recruits isn't just an excuse.

    GAME DAY - Manly v Bulldogs [Round 1, 2016]

I'm looking forward to watching Green play. He must be doing well to have taken that starting position.

    What's a tackle?

Anyone know how a tackle is defined when calculating player stats? Is it just first man in, or do the second and third man get the tackle included in their stats?

Former Jet could have Sea Eagles flying high

I would have the two props plus Mareo coming on as a ball playing lock when the forwards are tired. Will mean both back rowers play 80 but Mateo could play there instead if needed. Would give us a good mix of power and speed for our interchanges.
  20. seaeagledave

Interchanges - how will we use them?

My guess is: 4 - Props - rotate 2 each half 2 - Hooker - one in each half 2 - Lock - one in each half unless there is an injury in which case the lock on plays rest of the game. Having one hooker would make a big difference but it seems we are playing both? Will mean second row plays 80 minutes...
