    Ben Hunt?

The Donkeys just coughed up a reported $1.25m per season for the next four years for Walsh. That's an awful lot of loot for a player who is a wonderful attacking weapon but suspect in defence and prone to making mistakes.

Ado-Carr would be a perfect fit for Doesn'tmatta.

    Off season & boxing on

Al's tenure at Manly has disappointed me. He is undisciplined, and has either underperformed or was overrated in the first place. I just can't warm to him.
  5. The Who

    Ben Hunt?

Surely whoever signs him will not be forking out anything close to his current salary. I'd also ensure it is a two-year deal, no longer.
  6. The Who

    Good or bad idea?

Well, we need tough, experienced front rowers so I applaud the recruitment, if it happens.

    2025 Draw

No, we only played Melbourne once in 2024 -- and we beat them.

    2025 recruitment & retention

As a former journalist, including stints covering sport, let me tell you that the most important word in reporting is "may". And I don't mean the month.

Bateman... no, no, no, no, no

Poor old Wests wasting $800,000 a season on this bloke. We'd never waste that kind of money on a player . . .
  10. The Who

    Ben Hunt?

What rubbish. We are only interested in signing players from Wests.

    Australia V N.Z.bro

Both teams are down on talent but the Aussies look better on paper.

    YART time

Our current options are Burbo and Navale. Not sure if Tevaga is an edge. Then possible converted players could include Arthur and TTII. Nothing really to get excite about, and unless we bulk up our forwards 2025 will be a repeat of this season: close-ish but never really a chance of competing...
  13. The Who

    2025 recruitment & retention

By my reckoning we have filled 28 of the places in our top 30 for 2025 and, unless we gain a couple of unexpectedly good players, we'll again be competing for positions 5th to 8th next season. Our backs are excellent; we have good back-up and don't need any more. We just need to return Sandwich...

    2025 recruitment & retention

I think Tanah Boyd is a reasonably good player who could be used as a hooker. He also is a good goal kicker. This could be important. Sandwich's goalkicking is keeping him in our top 13. If we had another option then he may be squeezed out of our backline because, purely on form, he currently is...

Another signing from Wests? How old is he? 14?
  16. The Who

    2025 recruitment & retention

Yes, your two examples are both worthy. But Wests overpay their players so getting them cheaper doesn't necessarily mean they are a "bargain". I'm concerned that in recent years 75% of our recruits are from Wests; this is suspicious.
  17. The Who

    Fiji v Kumuls

He does break more tackles than our current lock who has become just a defensive workhorse.
  18. The Who

    2025 recruitment & retention

Initially, recruiting Tigers' players was treated as coincidental and a bit of a joke. But now it is at a level that needs investigation. Why is our club targeting players from the poorest performing club in the NRL?
  19. The Who

    Aus vs Tonga

To hold the powerful Tongan side to nil was a mighty defensive effort. This Australian side looks relative weak on paper but they are obviously committed.

    Club News 2024

Well at least he's not from Wests.
