    Ashton Large

His brother already has a thread, so I thought I'd make this one to mask over a pretty bad week for first grade, and give some good news for the future. Ashton Large, who is 16 (maybe? Said to be a year younger than Onitoni, and was definitely 14 in Sep 2023), is bloody looking good coming...

    Lehi Hopoate

According to the Tigers, he was 14 in September 2023, which should put him at about 15-16 right now. Would presume he is currently 16 then, maybe born late 2008. If his birthday is the 5th of October, 2008, he is destined for absolute greatness here, that's for sure!

    NRL Games [Round 7, 2025]

Dogs have shades of the 2020 Panthers right now, in my opinion. I think Ciraldo may have been the key to the dynasty. Newer generation players, who weren't coached under Ciraldo, haven't been able to fill the gaps as well. Given the Dogs very much seem to be on an upwards trajectory, that win...

    Lehi Hopoate

Pretty sure he was born in 2009, so that means he won't be 18 until 2027. Correct me if I am wrong, and you have a more recent source. I believe he's been well ahead of his age level since he was about 14.

    Pre-Game Discussion - Panthers V Manly [Round 8, 2025]

From the get go a few weeks back, I thought we were, and still are, a better chance of winning this game, than we were against Sharks and Dragons. I tipped that way too. Something about us having absolutely zero expectations of winning, getting Turbo back (probably), possibly getting a more...

    Woodsie's Team List Tuesdays

If I have to make a prediction from the above, also on the basis that we apparently might get Turbo back (even though I'd rest him) 1. Turbo 2. Saab 3. Koula 4. Garrick 5. Hopoate 6. Brooks 7. DCE - honestly close to being dropped 8. Aloiai - I bloody hope he's back 9. Simpkin 10. TKO 11...

    The Clean Out 2025 Edition

Purely from a cap space perspective. He's an absolute gun, but I think Garrick is the more complete player, particularly on the wing in my lineup. 400-500k becomes available for a forward.

    The Clean Out 2025 Edition

I genuinely think Croker may be medically retiring soon. I've been a fan of him, gutsy player, something we lack everywhere else. He's big on education, and I actually think he would make a good coach. I think the rebuild couldn't come sooner. The Trbojevic contracts are two years too long, and...

    MVP: Rd 7 v Dragons

Agree with you. No clue what Ola was on tonight. 3 - Hoppa, he is the future. 2 - Simpkin, game actually flowed. 1 - TKO, was really putting in tonight.

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I was a fan of Des despite some stupid selection choices, until the end. I am a fan of Seibold despite some stupid selection choices, up to this point. For reference, I thought Barrett was an absolute fraud. Buffoon. Since Tooves, we've been rolling through coaches, and it's almost like...

    This team are also rans!

The problem with Seibold, or literally any Manly Coach™ under Scott Penn is this fundamental problem: 1. They must include the "favourites" of the previous generation, that they didn't sign. 2. They must be either mediocre, or finals-bound every year, or else Scotty gets angry and sacks them...

    Sack Spoony Siebold

I don't think sacking him, like many people are saying, is the move, unless we can actually guarantee Brad Arthur is a) actually ready to coach NRL again, b) has fixed his defence (Eels were the worst defensive side in the comp before he was sacked), c) is guaranteed to come here, and d) is a...

Won’t win another game this year!

I can't tell if you're just the master of hyperbole or if you kick potted flowers when you see them. Tonight's loss was relatively simple. - DCE playing second fiddle to bloody Luke Brooks and 20-year-old Lehi Hopoate, and being close to his old match fixing allegation form. - Seibold not...

Worst selection error in Manly history.

Obviously hyperbole in your title, Wolfman in the 2013 GF was definitely worse. Aside from that, you're correct. That said, not picking Navale is not the reason we lost the game. DCE, the world-class halfback seeking $1.1 mil, playing second fiddle to Luke Brooks and Lehi Hopoate, is.

    Jamal Fogarty

If we get him on about the same money as Brooks (650k) I'll be happy. It'll be the true test of whether we would've been better off with one DCE or two solid halves the last decade.
