I'd like to see the ranking for appearances on Channel Nein's Thursday and Friday night coverage. Surely it wouldn't have the Broncos at the top of that list!

Scheduling would have plenty to do with this.
7 Monday night games!
One Sunday at Brookie!
A lot of contributing factors missing from this data.
Good on the knights though.
How can the raiders be on 14 after the year they've had? Doesn't seem correct.

Raiders in 14th (3rd last) despite being 3rd on the ladder.....shows how many fair weather fans they suddenly have coming out of the woodwork now they are winning again.

Being 15th for Manly isn't good either but look at the home schedule we've had (not that the NRL will.....).

Shock horror 3 of the top 5 are one team towns.

Can't really make a fair judgement unless all teams get an even share of game days. 7 Monday nights do not equate to 7 Friday nights. However the nrl won't take that into consideration when pushing their kpi agenda

And the winner with a record of 8 Thursday's and 10 Friday's (up to and including this coming round) is........

The Brisbane Broncos

18 games out of 24 played, that's a LOT of 7 and 8 day turnarounds.....is it any wonder Friday's are nicknamed Friday Night Broncos? And Thursday nights just give Nein an excuse to have them on even more.

The full Thursday / Friday night breakdown by club (in order) is:

Broncos (18) - 8 Thursday / 10 Friday
Bulldogs (13) - 7 Thursday / 6 Friday
Rabbitohs (11) - 5 Thursday / 6 Friday
Eels (9) - 2 Thursday / 7 Friday
Sea Eagles (8) - 3 Thursday / 5 Friday
Cowboys (6) - 3 Thursday / 3 Friday
Roosters (6) - 3 Thursday / 3 Friday
Dragons (6) - 4 Thursday / 2 Friday
Panthers (4) - 1 Thursday / 3 Friday
Tigers (4) - 1 Thursday / 3 Friday
Raiders (3) - 2 Thursday / 1 Friday
Titans (3) - 0 Thursday / 3 Friday
Storm (2) - 0 Thursday / 2 Friday
Warriors (1) - 0 Thursday / 1 Friday
Knights (0) - 0 Thursday / 0 Friday
Sharks (0) - 0 Thursday / 0 Friday

I live in Canberra and I can tell you nobody cares about any teams here throughout the season. Plenty of ex Victorian flog bags that go to the three GWS games they play here but they only pull about 9000. But if Faders get a home semi then the bandwagon public servants that love to be on a winning team will be sleeping outside ticketek to get tickets. The fans here are a joke. However they get too many night games at Bruce Stadium and it is a bloody ice bath in winter in the dark.

It ceased being a fair, even or equitable competition years ago. Just think about the 2013 GF, the salary cap rorting, the double contract Storm, The Manly loading @ the judiciary, and the state of Brookvale 'oval' and yes, the contrived scheduling.

this is HOME crowds, not all. So those blaming 7 Monday games - think again. And that is 15th with the Suncorp game included too. We may have been last without that.

There are a lot of reasons for low home crowds. Some have been already mentioned.

But does the team you play have much to do with it? Not many Cowgirls, Storm fans travelled to Brookie for those two games even though they were played on Saturdays unfortunately.
Plus we had two Monday night games, one against the gummies early on and then the other against St Merge, again attracting low fan numbers of those teams. And then two Thursday night home games one against the vermin and the other against the worms.
So we have had 4 home games on school nights so to speak, not sure we can ask for big crowds there?

What opposition fans travel to Brookie?

And not sure if sacking Toovey had much to do with the numbers too?

With Penrith being 13th on the list.....

The nrl (and Gus) will decry the state of the ground and stadium out there in rugby leagues heartland and then give them:

Another stadium, new training facilities, more games in the time slots they want, salary cap short term exemptions, refs will be instructed to give them the rub of the green, superstars from other codes induced to play for them...cap exempt, a blind eye to third party deals if they are non legit, head office help with major sponsors, and a ton of additional tax payer funded infrastructure (roads, etc.)

Manly...being 15th on the list......

Will get told to play out of anz from now on.

We had one Sunday afternoon game when the club specifically requested Sunday games at Brookie due to crowds and atmosphere. Also throw Monday nights into that mix so scheduling does play a big part in this. As for the Titans position, if not spiked by the landing of Hayne Airlines late in the season they would be very low.
I believe it's data with an agenda.
