Thursday Night - what do you want to happen?

The biggest joke is these 2 teams actually playing on Thursday night. If we happen to lose on Saturday and one of them wins the MP, and Penrith win on Sunday night, they will play Penrith the following Friday in all likelihood - giving them an 8 day break and Penrith 5. How is that even close to being fair and equitable? And even if they play us, it's going to be an 8/6 turnaround - at this point of the season those couple of days make a huge difference.

Yeah we can only hope for a tie, that way rest everyone on sat against cows.

You would have to say on current form that the chooks will win on thursday which is the best of a bad situation.

I loathe souffs, that's how much i dislike the club.

Personally, I'd like to see both teams just go hell for leather at each other, don't care who wins really. Though double golden point would be good, make them play over 100 minutes.

Then after we do over the Cows in FNQ and win the minor premiership, I'd like to see the Rorters and Vermin bash christ out of each other again in week 1 of the finals, and again I'd like to see double golden point. Ok we'd have to put up with Nein blowing their loads over it.....but those two teams taking it out of each other two weeks in a row is all the better for Manly.

Thursday night scenario:

SBW inflicts a huge shoulder charge on George Burgess. Big bro Sam rushes in and punches Sonny in the face. Both players have now committed send off offenses.
Sonny and Sam go chest to chest about to rumble. Suddenly their eyes lock and they hold each others' gaze. Time stands still.
Sonny and Sam move their heads closer and passionately snog.......

Do you think I have a chance as a romance author? lol :D

Yeah that's what I thought when they announced the Thursday night schedule. Shock horror Nein picks the Rorters to play the Thursday game the week before the finals (it might just be coincidence that they're playing the Vermin). That would give either team at least an 8 day break leading into week 1 of the finals. Think Gyng didn't have anything to do with picking the Rorters to play this particular Thursday night? Roosters by name, Rorters by nature.

Gyngel is a blight on the game always makes sure his Rorters AND his second team the Donkeys get exactly what they want!!

Well HV8, the Roosters always play Souths on the first and last round of the draws. It has become a tradition. This time it's a roosters home game but next year it reverses. As for playing this Thursday, well the one that gets the most of the time to recover is Souths cause they last played on Thursdays where as the roosters played last Saturday. This extra couple of days has allowed Burgerase extra time to recover as he was very sore after the dogs game.

If it has become a tradition then it shows the schedule is fixed. Match-fixing is illegal.
I thought each year's schedule was 'random'. The fact that we only ever seem to play Canberra and the 'Riff just once every season is pure co-incidence. Or could I be naive...

Must be quite an ancient tradition that's been in place for at least 12 months.
Pretty sure Chooks played Dogs in the last round in 2012.

The roosters have their Gatorade spiked with Viagara and thus lay all over the Souffs players causing fights with all of the bunnies. Obviously with the exception of Sam burgess who would probably not let go of the roosters player.

If you give roosters players Viagra, they just get taller.

No it's been in place for a few years. I think since the vermin came back into the comp when the Roosters 'demanded' we play them on the first round. What nick wants, they get I suppose. :D
Well it's also like the Anzac day game v Saints. We also used to play the Broncos on Good Friday but thats been switched to another team. Not sure what games Manly have set as 'traditional games' if you can call it that. As for the NRL and Nine fixing the schedule, well the main one is the Broncos. there was even an article on the Sunday tele how much it helps them to have normality throughout the competition. Bellamy was the only one quoted in the article and I'm not sure why other teams say little. That's the rort. If Gyngell was looking to help the Roosters, then why not give them that?
