The answer to Refs !!

Recently some strange decisions as if controlled by little green men have had fans from everywhere scratching heads....
Everyone makes human error but with the wisdom of 75 replays, refs & touch judges the quota of stuff ups is unacceptable.
Thing I hate most is 2 refs have different interpretations of the 10 metres, time in the ruck, lifting, allowing /not allowing quick taps ect.
Almost as though these whistle blowers learn from different manuals on rulings as so far apart....
Simply bring back 1 ref, it wasn't perfect but was far more consistent & fair to both teams.
If the ruling is sent upstairs, make the decision swiftly - right or wrong & DONT send it back downstairs....he went to you because he had no f**king idea!!

No. he went to you because he is too scared of making a mistake, and whose vault is that other than the 50 replays and the fans screaming blue murder when he does.

It is getting that stupid we will soon trial no refs, simply a disembodied voice from a loud speaking calling the plays.

So why go back to the person who was so scared of making a mistake??....thats a genius idea.

The refs are already a protected species as they should front up to post match conference like players & coaches do.

Point was the refs need to be more on the same page & if you want your car fixed you don't see a plumber, the video ref when called upon should make that call as that is his job, not the bloke who was clueless.

We should adopt the NFL type challenge flag and the on-field ref should review it and make a decision after watching the replay.

Not wanting to make a mistake and being clueless are not the same thing.
They are not making decisions because there is absolutely no upside in them doing so.
The ref's are a protected species for a very good reason, idiots keep abusing them and expecting a higher level of efficiency than is humanly possible.
Agree about only one ref.
You have a far greater confidence in the Vidiots making a correct decision than me.
The problem is we have a hybrid system that isn't working. Either ALL decisions are video referred like NFL (but even then the umpire makes the decision) or only tries. But not the crap we have at the moment when the vidiots jump in whenever the broadcaster decides to play a replay. (has anybody considered that a Chn 9 production manager may have too much influence on a game by selectively replaying certain incidents and not others)

The real problem is the Linesman.
Their job used to be to rule on offside, forward pass and out of bounds. When did these get delegated :huh:

One Ref's interpretation is still more consistent.

The selective choices on replays has been going on all year, and is infuriating.

Both with Nein and Fox we are being intentionally denied too often, from having full disclosure (to make up our own minds) as was the case forever.

And is our right as fans.
