Stone the Crowes: you can back Souths to lose every game

SOUTH Sydney's dismal start to the season has prompted a bookmaker to offer odds on when - or if - the club will win a game this year.
The Rabbitohs are the only side not to register a win after the opening five rounds of the NRL and punters can now back them to remain winless in 2008, an outcome paying $51.
Betting agency Sportingbet Australia has framed a market dubbed "Rabbitohs woes" before today's encounter with Wests Tigers at the SCG. It allows punters to nominate which round the club will finally break through for a victory. They are rated a $2.20 chance to beat the Tigers but there are juicy odds on offer for subsequent rounds of the regular season.
"We have Souths priced at $51 not to win a match this season and, while they should get away with a handful of matches, on current form this option might be worth a ticket," Sportingbet's trading floor manager Bill Richmond said.
"This weekend's match against the equally depleted Wests Tigers already looms as a must-win match, with difficult games against Brisbane, North Queensland, Canberra away and Melbourne in coming weeks," Richmond said.
"Looking further forward, on current form it is tough to see them starting favourite in any match.
"They haven't been helped by injuries to their key creative players Craig Wing and Issac Luke. Their attack looks disjointed, with no one confident enough to lead them around the park."
Souths are $2.25 favourites to finish with the wooden spoon after opening the season at $13. Their premiership odds have blown out from $23 to $101 after falling two wins behind everyone bar St George Illawarra.
